Woohoo! :cool: I'm a prop geek and I really love the cheap but accurate and awesome Phasers and Comms they've done. I'm really jazzed the Tricoder is coming out!

I actually don't think the pic they've got up is even a prototype of the actual product...folks over at the RPF think it's an HMS. Still...if their past offering are any indicator, it's sure to be wicked cool....and ya' can't beat it for thirty bucks!

Did anyone ever notice that Nimoy was always looking at the back top of the tricorder in TOS and not at the screen and the controls? This is true at least for almost the whole 1st season at least. Always irked me...what the heck was he looking at? :vulcan:

He didn't need to look at the screen. He could tell the readings by the subtle changes in the warbling.

He's just that damn good. :devil:

I already own the phaser and communicator. I know I'm just going to have to order one of these. :lol:
 
I am really fighting the urge to grab up the phaser, communicator, and tricorder in one fell swoop, but between what I have already and the forthcoming Enterprise-D, I'm running out of space in my Trek room.
 
^ I am quickly running out of room myself. I think I may need to build a bigger house. :rommie: But the E-D was the last remaining ship I really wanted for my collection. Other than the tricorder, I don't see anything else right now I just have to have. Now if DS decided to do a toy of the Defiant and DS-9 (hint hint!), I might be in trouble and forced to look for a builder.
 
I was thinking of getting a larger study or office to put all this stuff into, including a wall of sci-fi weapons, like phasers, blasters, lightsabers, even perhaps a bat'leth or a sword from LOTR. Heck, if I win the lottery, I might just plop down some cash on those life-sized replicas of C-3PO and R2-D2 that Sideshow is making.
 
^ Now that would be neat... the office and the droids. You could really go all out and have a desk made to look like a console too.

And you know, I have always wanted a bat'eth. Hmmmm... I wonder...
 
i wish someone would make a cell phone that looks like a TOS communicator, complete with sound effects when you flip open the cover.

Maybe. DS has had past issues with push-backs, though most of it concerned their figure lines.

They got the TOS comm out on time this spring, so hopefully this will ship on time as well. There has been a ton of discussion of this on other boards. The photo you see is almost certainly the prototype. The final one will likely have less metal, more plastic, and be similar to the TOS comm and P2 in execution. I suspect this will also be a HUGE seller for AA as the hunger for TOS-related items appears to be ongoing and enormous.
