First order of business, determine the identity of Thelev's accomplices, if any, still operating on Andor...

(These images made using my 1/1000 scale Polar Lights Enterprise, a beachball, and a homemade space backdrop)

Add some film grain, maybe blur the Enterprise just a little and it'd look straight out of an episode.

Awesome!

"Rockin' it 'old school'!"

Ah, yes, the "beach-ball for a planet" solution. Some of those found in the dept' stores have some really amaz8ing swirls of colors, perfect for alien worlds. I wonder how many of those sold wound up serving as celestial bodies in basement movie studios over the years?

Sincerely,

Bill

You have to admit the old school approach looks like old school episodes. Really well done, the pics look really close to original series effects.

Yeah. I'm nothin' if not "old school". This is fun! Here's another one.

Constellation Adrift

I honestly cant say if that's a screencap or your model. It looks very like the image I remember in the Trek Encyclopedia for the DY-100. As for the damaged Constellation didn't they just use a regular ERTL Enterprise model anyway to save cash? You cant get more accurate than using a retail model kit to mimic a retail model kit. :)

I think the Big "E" in those shots is his model while the DY and the the Consti' are screen captures from the actual episodes. If I'm wrong, I'm even more impressed!

Sincerely,

Bill

You are correct. The only model in the last 2 images is the 1/1000 Enterprise. The Constellation and Botany Bay are copied and pasted from screen caps.

Ya know... I didn't notice it til the "Constellation Adrift" image, but I think you're impulse engine hardware and warp nacelle inboard trenches are too dark a shade of gray. Something was throwing my eye and I couldn't quite place it, but after staring for a bit, I'm pretty sure it's just too dark. But seeing as how it took so long for me to realize that is a testament to how well done these are. The one alongside the Botany Bay looks spot on. I wouldn't have recognized that as anything but the TOS ship if I hadn't been told otherwise.

Excellent work.

The inboard nacelle trenches are Light Ghost Gray which is about right. It looks darker in that picture than in actuality. That said, the impulse engines and linear accelerator did appear to be a little dark; thank you for pointing that out. I think I used Gunship Gray originally. Anyway, I repainted it yesterday using Dark Ghost Gray which was noticeable lighter. I think the impulse engines look much closer to the original now. Thanks for the keen obsevation Alex!
