I just found this on YouTube and I thought DS9 fans would get a kick out of it. I guess when shows like DS9 were sent out to affiliates via closed-circuit satellite feed they'd run a "sound slate" preceding the feed so the broadcasters could confirm the stereo, etc. was working properly.
I knew about this, but I didn't know that the soundcheck was actually performed by one of the actors! In this case they got Rene Auberjonois to record the sound check in character as Odo. Short, but funny. His comment at the end cracked me up.

According to the user comments there's a Michael Dorn-as-Worf sound slate for TNG, too.
