A Vampire Diaries "what if" scenario of Damon/Elena

Imagine a scenario in which Damon finally got together with Elena before turning her into a vampire at some point. How do you see their relationship as a vampire couple on the show? Would their relationship resemble that of Chuck and Blair with the passion, the games, and the drama but with some blood and carnage added to the mix? Or something?

Hmm.. I know this show is based on books but have no idea what happens in any of them but enjoy the show. I think I'd like Damon better as an outsider myself... And Katherine is already a hot psycho vampire so no need for her doppleganger Elana to go there....

Well, I think Elena would be different from Katherine because she won't be sleeping with Damon and Stefan at the same time and she's not one to abandon someone she cares about easily as Katherine did to Damon.
