A USS Bluefin Short-Story: "Right Place, Wrong Time"

A truly fantastic finish to a phenomenal story! :techman:

I loved the twist at the end with Akinola dosing Strauss with the mind-clouding medication, and the big reveal that Baxter's still kicking under an assumed identity not so terribly far away.

Wonderful job integrating many of your most popular characters across time-lines, while simultaneously paying homage to the quirks and complexities of temporal mechanics and the temporal prime directive. Also, you've done fine work in bringing aboard a canon character to especially good (and humorous) effect.

This is an especially worth addition to the already substantial Bluefin catalog of stories.

CeJay - Thank you! Glad you liked the twist at the end.

Gibraltar - Glad you enjoyed the story! I'm pleased you thought I did Barclay justice. He is a fun character, isn't he?

I've been toying with what to do with the "late" Calvin Baxter for three years. At first, I planned to leave him dead by suicide. Then, I toyed with the idea that his death was caused by someone else to make it appear suicide. Likely culprits were Sec. 31, Tal'Shiar, even the Syndicate.

In the end, I really missed the old guy and decided to give him a second chance. Maybe I'll write the story where he goes into the protection program (and what happens when he decides he's had enough). Before that, though, I have some works in progress to address: Dragon's Slayd, Steel-Edged Grace, and The Endurance of Jesse Yeager, not to mention a couple of alt universe stories. I'm waaay behind on those stories! :alienblush:

Again, thanks to all for taking the time to read and comment! :)
