Instead of making series that will last 3,5,7 seasons, maybe something new should be made. A Star Trek that will not be based solely on one character or one crew, but on some big event. As was the Dominion War. You could mix anything and everything, make a lot of sets, a lot of crews, one good story. Connect Deep Space Nine as one set, some ship as another set, Academy as a third set. Make a great team. Bring in people from TNG, Voyager and so on. Create an event, a war that will last.
Or maybe make something like a miniseries instead of the classic show with 5 seasons.
Let's say for the year 2024 to present a miniseries of 8 episodes where each episode will last 1 hour and 30 minutes. And that it is based on Titan, Shaw, Seven of Nine. Then in the year 2025 make another miniseries of 8 episodes, let's say it is based on Bashir and Section 31. Then insert O'Brien.
I think it's a waste of resources if they made a classic show with Seven of Nine or something like that, because this way, as I wrote above, all the characters from Trek in the 90s could be connected in and mixed with new characters.
It is maybe similiar to Short Trek, but this coud be big story.
