A Time To Sow

Just finished.

I thought it was very enjoyable, better than the first two "A Time To" books. I liked the fact the Enterprise is just sent on a simple/average mission.

There certainly was enough set up for the next part of the story. We don't know to what extent the Dokaalan leadership is involved with the Security Minister, Nidan. We don't clearly know why some of the asteriod bases are being sabotaged. We don't know the extent of Kalsha's mission...

I am really looking forward to the next book.

I was really impressed with the ability of Dayton Ward and Kevin Dilmore to keep me interested in the story despite the fact there was very little action.

The use of trek history was also very nicely done. Using the Vulcans from the Enterprise time period early in the novel was great. It allowed the story to be grounded and realisitic in that the Dokaalan's have been dealing with the situation in the star system for a long time. I hope the destruction of their world is explained in the next novel. Their society was really well developed. Their survival in their system's asteriod field was thought provoking.

The flow of the novel was great. This one was a great read.

Unfortunately, I have not been able to push into A Time To Harvest as quickly as I would have liked. I'm 30 or 40 pages in and am annoyed I have not been able to sit down for an hour and just read with no distractions for an hour or two. Would like to finish it by this weekend.
