A Thought about the SGA episode "Sanctuary"

We know from SG1 that Ascended beings can draw power from the worship of lower beings as in the case of the Ori. So, in the SGA episode "Sanctuary", we see that the population of Proctulus worships Athar who turns out to be a Ascended Ancient. So, was Athar/Chaya able to draw power from the worship? Obviously, it would not have been a lot of power since the population was so small, but was she still able to draw some power or did she choose not to since she is an Ancient?

Since she wasn't evil, I think we can assume that she wasn't taking advantage of her followers in that fashion. In fact, if I recall, she was charged with protecting them.

That is what I think. I was just wondering what other people thought about this.

I do not think she was taking power from them but i wonder if she had stopped the society getting more technology advance?

I think so. When Weir offers technology to improve their agriculture and industry, Chaya refuses, saying that her people are perfectly content and self sufficient the way they are.

^That's just sensible, though. I'll presume the words "Prime Directive" don't have much meaning to Weir. You can destroy a civilization by artificially advancing it.

I was thinking more along the lines of the people doing things for them selfs.
I thought she was a bit like the Caretaker in voyager who looked after the people in such away they never thought about doing things for them selfs.
