A thought about Landru's planet

you are supposed to notice that, the clothing is a plot point. It's how they were discovered to be imposters.

WHAT???

Comes from Sulu's line: "They knew we were Archons. These are the clothes they wear, not these."

And the bundle of clothes he has under his arm when beams up.

Star Trek did a lot of things because they were cheap and didn't want to spend money. The only way you can tell there were any aliens is by someone saying something or skin color. Also using some of the prosthetics used in TNG was probably impossible in the 60s or if it was possible it was very expensive.

Last it's easier to use terms that everyone could understand. And just explain some things away. I mean how does everyone really understand English?

Fuck me. Somehow I never grokked that. I'm an idiot.

The prosthetics looked like shit. The aliens in Star Trek were far more alien than those in TNG.

You know, I never even paid any attention to the "clock goof". That is pretty funny.

The funny thing is, Kirk didn't even need to look at a clock. The scene would've been as effective if he had just heard the bells chiming.

That ep was hilarious. Despite obvious flaws, I still love it. Reminds me of some small towns near where I live. Strangers not allowed. God bless all the oil wells and screw all the tourists. What's your politics? Are you friend or foe? That kind of thing.
