Re: A Sneak Peak of Season 2 Remastered Unaired Episodes!!

Thanks for the link, but it looks like it was taken down or there's a problem on the site. Getting nothing, and tried five times.

I fixed it. Sorry.

Well...it's linking. The page looks like it's TRYING to upload and show what you want us to see. But then it's just freezing up. Might want to check it again. Nothing's working.

Looks pretty nice!!! I wish there was a pic of The Ulimate Computer or Enterprise Incident but I guess they are keeping those under wraps.

Looking forward to the enhanced episodes...

Those are season two and three episodes that aren't in this season 1 box set. And if past history is any indication, these two effects-heavy episodes probably won't be finished until very close to their airdates.

Not sure if anyone even noticed, but the Purist in me doesn't really care for the ultraviolet satellite in 'Operation Annihilate' coming out of the yellow circle on the bottom of the secondary hull. I always assumed that it was a yellow circle because there was something dangerous above it (like part of the warp systems)... not a drop bay. This is the first thing TOS-R has done that I can honestly say I don't really like.

^^^ I always pretended it was the warp core ejection hatch. I also thought that they were pocket-style doors that slid apart, not hinged doors. Hinges on a round hatch don't really make a lot of sense mechanically-speaking, if you think about it.

Seriously. Why couldn't those UV-satellites have been deployed from the shuttlebay?

The planets look very neat.

Just look at it. It's pure rape of logical design. They really should have used one of the square hatches if they wanted a hinged door.

Why didn't they just use the smallest square hatch at aft, I think that one is just a red outline. And seriously, the hinges... grrraaagggh. St. Jefferies must be spinning in his grave.

A few minor nitpicks aside, the new shots look awesome. Certainly head and shoulders above and better than the old opticals.

Well in Aviation, there have been many instances of round hinged hatches, Manual refuling ports and the like, it's mostly done because the underlying structure won't allow for a different shape, or because of a receptical underneath. Could explain the logic of an ejector port for round cylindrical objects being covered by a round hatch..pure speculation really...

I'm not a fan of the circular detail being hinged drop-bay doors either.

By the way, where in the hell did the Enterprise have room to store 210 minivan-sized ultraviolet satellites? My eyeball guesstimation looking at that satellite being deployed tells me that the thing is about 1.5 meters in diameter and 5 meters long, give or take. That works out to roughly 11.25 cubic meters per satellite, or 2,362.5 cubic meters for all 210. That's a cube 13.3 meters (43 feet) long on each side!

And what the heck was the Enterprise doing carrying all those UV satellites anyway? Seems like an odd thing to be carrying around the galaxy.

The UV-satellite equivalent of hammerspace?
