A Singular Destiny backcover text!!!

Would you be willing to tell us what species he is, KRAD? His names doesn't sound human, but it doesn't really bring one specific species to mind.
It's not really a big secret, I just like being mysterious to mess with people.

Oh, you wanted an answer?

Sonek is what used be called a quadroon: he's a quarter human, a quarter Vulcan, a quarter Betazoid, and a quarter Bajoran.

Here's a description of him from Captain Dax's point of view when he first beams onto the Aventine:

Seconds later, a sparkle of lights coalesced into a humanoid form. A large canvas bag was slung over his left shoulder. He had a drooping white mustache and long white hair, framing a round, pleasant face. He wore simple civilian clothing: a purple shirt, black vest, black pants, brown boots. The rather unruly head of hair was yoked back into a ponytail, revealing tapered ears that suggested Vulcanoid ancestry. He also had the rhinal ridges of a Bajoran, albeit fainter than usual, and the black eyes of a Betazoid. That's gotta be an entertaining family tree, Dax thought as she stepped forward

"Professor Pran, I presume?"

The grin he let loose with was completely human. In all three hundred and sixty-three years of life in nine hosts, the Dax symbiont had never encountered a species that grinned quite the way humans did.
I think I speak for everyone when I say suh-weet!!!

Agreed, sounds like he should be a pretty cool character.

I have to add my agreement as well my enthusiasm to the above.

I also have to say that from the quoted passage reguarding Sonek Pran, I'm enjoying KRAD's trend of pointing out Humanity's defining attribute as being our sense of Humor.
(Best represented thus far in the fantastic Q&A)

I'm looking forward to this book quite a lot. [as a quasi-follow-up of sorts to Articles of the Federation, as an actual follow-up to Star Trek: Destiny, and as an introduction for yet another intriguing, (and hopefully) well-utilized character. ]

Alright, enough of my prattling about. It's time for some Dresden Files goodness as my copy of BACKUP by Jim Butcher has just arrived in the post and I'm all too eager to see the world of Harry Dresden from Thomas Raith's rather unique perspective.

"And fifty percent pointer. There it is! There it is! There it is!"

"Fifty percent boxer, fifty percent setter -- Irish setter, fifty percent watchdog, fifty percent spitz, fifty percent Doberman pinscher, but mostly I'm all Labrador retriever."

Why thankee, kindly. I firmly believe that we're a bunch of funny-ass motherfuckers, and that's our biggest strength. Dadgummit.

^^^ Somehow that's not surprising coming from a man with a dethroned Hynerian as a avatar...

Sonek sounds like a pointy-eared Mr. Miyagi.
