A retrospective of My Little Ponies cartoons

If I had more time to do it, I'd check out some of the cartoon shows mentioned in this thread. I've always had a weak spot for animation and I like crazy storylines and premises.

As for the new MLP show, well, it is cute, sometimes unbelieably so. I'm thinking of characters like Fluttershy and the Cutie Mark Crusaders. On the other hand, in one episode, the ponies fall for an incredibly cute vicious parasite because they look so cute. Very meta.
I think Showdown nailed it. It's a quirky, funny show with interesting characters. The difference to the old shows is quite apparent in the two retrospective videos.

Indeed, a lot of the difference is in the feel of the show, because of the creative team behind it, Lauren and her team put so much effort into this series, and it shows when you sit down and watch it.

I have a feeling I wasn't the only one thinking of Tribbles when watching Swarm of the Century. Or gremlins. "Don't feed 'em! You'll get more of 'em!" At that point, my nieces look at me...
