I suggest that the thread needs to get back onto the topic of pants rather than petticoats, but since there wasn't really much of a topic to begin with...

... no, I've never dressed as Mary Poppins, but a girl at work once came in dressed in what was effectively a modern interpretation of what Mary Poppins might wear today (trim charcoal full-length skirt suit with the same sort of piping; white blouse; and -the coup de grace - high heeled slightly pointy lace-up Edwardian-style ankle boots) and my heart skipped several beats.

She got an extra spoonful sugar in her tea that day, I can assure you.
