A question for those who have seen the new Star Trek movie

I read in today's Boston Herald that the film employs the cloverfield, or shaky camera, technique. Is this true? And if so, how bad is the shaking that goes on? I'm not a fan of this kind of technique at all. I'm not usually susceptible to motion sickness, but this technique really pushes it for me.

Thanks in advance,
Steven

Ps. I'll be away from my computer most of the day, but I will be checking back during lunch.

There's an awful lot Michael Bay style camera work, especially during the battle and bridge scenes. :wtf:

It's not Cloverfield shakycam. It's more like Firefly shakycam.

That bad? Damn. This is the technique that made me get sick and leave the last Borne movie, which really surprised me becaue it takes a lot to get me sick due to any kind of motion.

I don't remember much of a shakeycam for most of the movie. I suppose they used it during the action-action-action sequences, but I didn't notice it like I did in Cloverfield.

IMHO, it wasn't bad at all.

I really didn't find it that distracting but one of my friends found it very distracting, particularly in the opening with the Kelvin, but he is a bit sensitive to that kind of thing.

Well then, I am going to sit further back in the theater than usual. That should help smooth out the ride.
