We don't have Walmart here but the constant complaint I read on these pages from US fans is "Heavily-discounted Star Trek novels are so hard to find at my local Walmart these days, and I had to drive to the next suburb to find them", or words to such effect.

Here in Oz, we have chain stores such as Big W (Woolworths Variety, in the ol' days) and Target, which do carry paperback and hardcover novels at massively-discounted prices (not ST these days), plus a huge range of food, toys, electrical goods, clothing and furnishings.
