A Question About Simon & Schuster E-Books

I'm sorry if this isn't the right section of the forum to post in.

I've been thinking of getting some E-books (Star Trek among others) from Simon & Schuster's site, however upon checking the FAQ it says that you can only use Adobe Reader 7.0.9 and that Adobe reader 8.0 doesn't support secure reading.

Now Adobe Reader 9.0 is out, is this still true? More to the point does Adobe Reader 7.0.9 work on Vista (I'd guess it does, but I wouldn't want to push my luck)?

I don't the answer to your question, but I recommend you try out all the formats, go to fictionwise.com and download some of the free ebooks and check them out. I didn't like Adobe's formatting and all sorts of things for ebooks. also check out things like if you can move the files around your computers, what happens if you lost your files, etc. etc.
