A question about diseases on earth in the future in Star Trek.

If the transporter's bio-scanner picks up something, I think McCoy would get a "email."

But the transporter operator might get to you first with a "dude, you need to get yourself checked."
 
There may be diseases that don’t affect humans until they are over 130, and those would be the cancer of the future.

Irumodic Syndrome strikes me as basically Alzheimer’s.
 
Also, diagnostics techniques may have evolved, but diagnostics practices aren't any different from today's, or Picard's and Sarek's respective Alzheimers would have been exposed well before they actually were. (I wonder if Picard didn't in fact contract that from Sarek...)
