A Proposed Pilot Episode: "The Last Big Bang"

This thread is not to announce a new fan series or any planned episodes, but to pitch an idea I had for a Trek fan series pilot which could be edited to match any number of productions set during the 24th century. Anyone who is interested in using the pitch is free to do so, so long as they share their final version with everyone. Here is the pitch in a nutshell:

The setting is shortly after the year 2387, or thereabouts. The Hobus star has gone supernova, and Spock Prime has already chased Nero into the alternate universe. In the prime universe, the Borg return, destroy earth, and assimilate everything else, scattering humanity across the stars. There is only one ship left. In a last attempt to save humanity, this last crew team up with a civilian scientist in a desperate attempt to recreate the Big Bang, and reboot the whole universe, thereby rewriting history. In the process, the old universe is completely destroyed, and reborn exactly as it was. After a brief montage of all universal moments in history up to this point, the final moments of the episode involve the crew of this valiant ship assembling for the first time, without any memory of what they had just done, as a flashback/restart.

Sound like voyager reset button. I love time travel stories but not when everything is restored exactly how it was. Reminds me a bit if TNG All Good Things tbh. The idea is interesting but seems a bit epic to be 1 episode. And to make it a series with continuing themes is hard to get right and to follow. Look at Enterprise temporal cold war.

I could see this at the very end of a universe, at heat death, when all sentient life has ended, but some cthulhoid threat emerges. Then blow it all to hell after downloading all the alien worlds lifeforms to preserve them

Yes, but they'll get away with it. Again and again and again. The perfect war crime. It's ingenious, really.

Sounds like the idea is at least partially lifted from the Futurama episode "The Late Philip J. Fry".

Also sounds partially similar to "The Big Bang", the last episode of Doctor Who Series Five.

This also brings to mind the actually ingenius "The Late Philip J. Fry" episode from Futurama. Except there, at least Fry, Bender and the Professor remembered what happened as they were the only ones who actually traveled through time.

This idea seems, as mentioned, very similar to the Doctor Who episode and even then not fully formed. Who are the people in this story? Why should we care about them? What's the point of it all beyond the big boom gee whiz battle scenes and 'splosions?

How do you plan to show these seminal moments from history? Are you going to recreate all of them with actors and sets and visual effects, or just ape stock footage off youtube?

It would be much more interesting (if you're adamant about having this particular direction being the thrust of your story) if there's a voice (or voices) among the characters legitimately asking if humanity deserves to be saved/rebooted. The ethical dilemma inherent in that conversation alone would be, if well written, a thousand times more interesting (and in line with the kinds of stories Star Trek has traditionally told) than another space battle.
