A Poem Praising Caffeine

sonak

Vice Admiral
Admiral
On caffeine
I'm very keen
I was feeling down
But you brought me around
I was feeling inert
Yet you made me alert!
You swept the cobwebs out
Turned it into a rout
My mind is now sharp
I have no need to carp
You've done it for me,
Made the colors brighter,
Perked up my day
And so let me say
That if I had my way
We all could feel your effects
And experience the bliss
That comes from the kiss.....

of caffeine

I felt like writing this when I was feeling down earlier, but realized that it was merely fatigue from a lack of caffeine

Whether your preferred method of delivery is coffee, Mountain Dew, No Doz, or whatever, let us praise together this most wonderful of relatively harmless, OTC drugs.

I don't consume caffeine for its stimulant effects. I used to be pretty severely addicted to the stuff and would get insane headaches without it, so I cut it out of my diet. I still drink coffee and soda, just not very often, and certainly not for the caffeine.

why not just decaf then for the coffee?

For soda, other than Dew or Diet Coke, not a lot of them have significant amounts of it. Root Beer and Sprite/Mist may have none or very little I'm not sure, and Diet Pepsi's got less than Diet Coke.

Well, soda is also incredibly bad for you, caffeine or no caffeine.

I can drink caffeine just fine now without problems. I just try not to drink a lot of it.

I had to eliminate all caffeine years ago -- even the tiny bit in decaf eventually became too much for me. But I do remember back when it gave me a nice little boost (without the later problems). And oh how I loved a cup of rich, black coffee! So I enjoyed your poem, sonak.

thank you. The thought of having to go without caffeine scares me. I better be cautious with my use of it.

A poem about coffee?

For a second I thought I horribly misclicked and jumped into the Voyager forum. The horror.
:(

*giggle*
