A Person's 'Emmy Episode'...

I'm going to do the Chief Engineers now.

James Doohan - Outside the big three, he got the most to do, though it's difficult to choose because he was still not given all that much. One thing he was great at, besides being an engineer, was a command officer. I can't think of a single instance where he made a mistake or was not professional when he commanded the ship. So I'm going to go with "WOLF IN THE FOLD", because at least he got to use some range.

LeVar Burton - Out of almost everyone in the franchise, LeVar Burton made technobabble sound believable. His delivery of all that material was perfect... you truly felt like he earned his position. Ironically, I think his best acting performance was not as Chief Engineer, but as the man in the captain's seat in "The Arsenal of Freedom". He kept a level head throughout, but you can tell he was hiding uneasiness and some fear. But he did a great job, particularly in how he handled Lt. Logan. And he was great with the junior bridge officers, too. I've always felt this episode was why Picard chose LaForge as his permanent Chief Engineer. It's a position that's arguably the most important on the ship, and he demonstrated ALL the intangible skills necessary to hold that position.

Colm Meaney - Colm was a solid performer for all his appearances. It's why he git upgraded from a random crewman to Transporter Chief on TNG to series regular on DS9. It's really tough to single out one episode, but I have to say "HARD TIME" is his winning one. He put the full range out... anger, despair, sadness. His near suicide scene with Bashir is possibly his greatest scene, and you really felt his despair. And when he hugs Molly after she says "Daddy's home"... I shed a couple single man tears every time.

Roxann Dawson - I feel like Roxann doesn't get enough credit for the great performances she pulled out through the whole run. There's several candidates, but I have to agree with Brennyren and single "FACES" as her shining episode. Pretty much for the reasons that was stated is why this is her Emmy episode.

Connor Trinneer - Being a Florida man like Trip, I always liked his character. Easy to get along with, and had a good heart. Connor really brought a lot of depth to Tucker, a character who could easily have been a cliche if done differently. He did great throughout the show, but possibly his standout is "THE FORGOTTEN". He really went through the wringer here... having to deal with his demons about losing his sister, coupled with losing one of his engineers. You completely feel his anger at Degra (and honestly, deserved) when they are in the room together. And his last scene writing the letter... he really did an outstanding job.

I don't know if anyone else has heard the phrase 'this is their Emmy episode'. What it means is the performance of the actor/actress is so stellar that they shpuld have gotten an Emmy. Or at least a nomination.

I wanted to see what episodes people feel are their Emmy episode.
