They all seem about as equally funny to me.
That's just dumb. In the first one, they're straight lines. In the third one, they're wisecracks and one-liners. No matter how pretentious your angle, "I'll kill you slow" is obviously in a different category from "How's this for a wet dream?"
The point is that your original representation of it as "Bad guy cracking one liners through the whole movie" isn't even an opinion, it's just plain false. He wasn't cracking one-liners, and as was repeated here, he barely had any lines at all. Your description fits the sequels, but not the original.

Fair enough. I've laughed at some horror movies, too. If the movie didn't work for you, it didn't work for you.
But it can't be because of Freddy's jokes because there aren't any in that particular movie.
