a nice piece on A Time for War, a Time for Peace on Tor.cm

Ellen Cheeseman-Meyer writes a series for Tor.com called "A Few of My Favorite Things," and her latest is my 2004 novel A Time for War, a Time for Peace. In her words, the novel "has all the things that make Star Trek worth reading," which makes me feel all warm and squishy.

Praise well deserved. It's been a good many years, but it's still one of my favorites too. The reviewer touches on a few of the best parts, including Worf's retaking of the embassy and Scotty stepping in to make sure the Enterprise crew gets a fair treatment. (I remember particularly liking the scene where he has lunch with Ross to discuss the matter.)

To me, it was the perfect conclusion to A Time to... as it provided a good "and now for something completely different" as opposed to Kill/Heal's utter mayhem.

Thank you! That scene was fun to write -- in general, working on the SCE series gave me a huge appreciation for the character of Scotty, and I really enjoyed writing him.

I remember reading this novel when it originally came out .It was one of my favorite books in the A time to miniseries. I thought this review was well written discussing Keith's novel.

ATfW, ATfP was great. It's always nice to see sites other than the usual Trek focused sites recognize the quality of TrekLit.
