A new "tough little ship"

I'm not sure what to call this yet, or what type of ship to classify it as, but this is a design I've been tossing around for a while and finally decided to hammer down a design. Here's a prelim sketch, with some color added in. All resemblance to the NSEA Protector is unintentional, but noted.

Any ideas for a name and/or classification are welcome.

Maybe you could name its class after that Vulcan bladed weapon, since it bears a slight resemblance.

That is freakin weird! I kinda like it, though. Looks something like a 30th century era Starfleet ship, assuming Starfleet and the UFP are still around by then.

This is GOOD stuff! It does sort of have a Vulcan feel to it though. An from the past the Vulcans do have an "eye" for the sleek and simple form.

The federation would naturally have ships of all designs from all peoples, so a ship like this with an all Vulcan crew, built with them in mind for comfort and functionality, would be (to borrow a phrase) logical.
