It's a pretty lame trailer. Speeding up the footage looks silly.
This 2001 montage set to the Inception soundtrack does a much better job as a trailer in keeping with the tone and style of the actual film.

If it's intended as a send-up, then yes, it works. But if the intent was more to show how real modern version of a 2001 trailer would look, it fails. With it being produced by film students, it's really hard to say.It's possible this is meant to parody the hyperkenetic style of modern trailers. In which case, that's the point, I guess.
