A Metaluna Bellerophon?

Would a saucer styled like Exeter's Metaluna saucer in 1955 "This Island Earth" movie make a good Bellerophon saucer in Forbidden Planet universe?

According to the 2008 book "The Saucer Fleet", the Metaluna saucer measured... length: 198 feet, width: 171 feet, height: 41 feet. It had 4 decks. The topside command deck is 38 feet wide, 56 feet long, 16 feet high.

That seems large enough to carry the original expedition's 16 members. And planet-exploring hardware.

Of course, they would not need that original 'airplane capture' feature. So, that space can be used otherwise. And the original sparce command deck needs a complete remake.

The Metaluna saucer I proposed, would not be 'just' the Bellerophon. I suggest it would be a 'class' of starship used in the Forbidden Planet universe for any interstellar civilian colonizing or research missions. The key point being 'civilian', and thus differentiated from the style of the 'military'-styled C-57-D.

In addition to the hull-styling difference, I would prefer the Metaluna-class saucers would be much slower than the military-class. Probably just light-speed. Thus requiring their crews to use stasis chambers for their inter-stellar voyages. I think it's cool to see the crews frozen 'Lost In Space' style.

The Metaluna-class saucer lands flat to the surface. So, I figure a cargo bay ramp could be installed on it's lowest deck (at the rear of the ship), to allow one or two (Lost In Space) Chariot-style land vehicles.
