EJA

Fleet Captain
Having read of some of your new ideas for Star Trek as presented in the new film, I just thought I'd write and tell you about my idea for a brand new version of a Star Wars prequel. My idea is that sometime in the distant future of SW (after Return of the Jedi), an evil Dark Jedi travels back into the past before A New Hope and messes with things a bit. In this bold new take on the SW story, the action begins on Earth in the 46th century AD, with Jedi Knights Obi-Wan Kenobi and Anakin Skywalker about to embark on the Clone Wars. What's cool is that Obi-Wan and Anakin aren't just comrades here, they're also lovers. They are also accompanied by a trainee Jedi by the name of Darth Vader. In the course of the story, a large number of planets are destroyed in the conflict, including Bespin, Endor and Hoth. Another cool thing is that Palpatine is now a weak, stupid guy who is used as a figurehead by the Council of Moffs. Master Yoda is killed in one of the battles. It ends with Anakin being murdered by the jealous and power-hungry Vader, but Obi-Wan manages to create a baby clone of Anakin which he names Luke; he then gives Luke to Owen Lars on Tatooine. This sets things up for A New Hope, but I decided to totally disregard the other films because it's so much cooler that way.

Chew on that for a while :angryrazz:

I assume you had a point of some kind there, EJA, but that was one long trivia-filled paragraph. Do you figure that somehow, somewhere someone will be so outraged by the very notion of Star Wars revisionism that sarcastic suggestions in that vein will cause the scales to fall from our eyes where the new Star Trek is concerned?

Don't hold your breath.
