Just curious, did anyone attend the Dallas Fan Expo two weeks ago? Me, my wife, and our two kiddos (5 and 8) went, and it was a blast? This was the first scifi convention we've been to as a family, though my wife and I used to attend years ago (like 10+) them often. Kids LOVED it. I did a panel with George Takei, we got to see Nichelle Nichols from a distance as she did autographs, and we sat through an AMAZING session with Marc Okrand who created the Klingon language. He went into detail on how it went on set with Star Trek III and how he had to mix his new language with the Klingon language that had been spoken in TMP already which was mostly just made-up words with little pattern. VERY neat to hear!!! I didn't know he was doing this or I would've taken my Klingon Dictionary to get signed.
We're also huge Whovians so we sat through some Doctor Who panels which were equally amazing, and just the overall convention was scifi heaven! Got some new shirts, saw some amazing costumes, and we're totally doing it again next year.
Anyone else attend or attend these regularly?
Take care--
