If I finally get to ATL & watch B5 with Vash, I'll have to come back here & see if I agree with what was posted.

Just don't worry about that large, sinister man standing behind you making sure you keep you keep your distance during all episode watching with Vash. I don't want to have to go all Jem'Hadar on anybody. ;)

Well I've watched a couple more eps of Farscape. :) And I'm still loving the show, hehe. While a lot of the plots are just decent, if that, I just love the characters so much that it's just a lot of fun to watch the show.
Anyway, the next ep I'm gonna watch in a few mins is "A Clockwork Nebari". And after that the "Liars, Guns and Money" three-parter. :)

You'll love LGAM's three-parter. Yet another great one. Nobody does 3-part eps like Farscape does.

You're right about the characters improving some eps though. There are some eps that would normally just seem "meh...," but the wacky and bizarre interaction between the characters takes it to some other level.

How did you manage to hire Michael Dorn?

Let's see you take this large, burly Klingon-cookin fiend that I AM

Besides, she's my sister, so I'm only mildly attracted to her that way  :p

Now if it's Michael Dorn you're talking about, he & I go way back (since I mixed his prune juice with bloodwine in a really tasty combination). No problem there ;)

Unfortunately Michael Dorn blew me off. At the last second, all I could get to do the job of large sinister guy was the mirror universe mrcoaster. And trust me...he's a scary dude!

How'd you like "Won't Get Fooled Again"? That ep never gets old for me; it's just too damned bizarre...plus it nicely answers a few plot questions re: John's visions.

/\ I'm beginning to see that. Especially after watching Confessions and Lamentations last night. I already told SB this through PM, but the end of that episode just really hit me. It wasn't a usual "end of the episode so everything is wrapped up nicely" ending that you'd expect from say, Star Trek. :(

I'm really beginning to appreciate how different this series is from Star Trek.

Yep, Steven...it *is* different from Trek. Now you see why those of us who are Niners *and* Fivers protest so strongly when people come in here and claim that the two shows are exactly alike?

As for Confessions and Lamentations...that is a very powerful episode...and one that I am particularly fond of, as a huge Delenn fan. This episode is easily in my top 5 Delenn episodes. Because it shows so much about her character.

It's one thing to talk religious. It's quite another to put one's money where one's mouth is.

Wow guys...he's willing to take on my most dear friend Huntingdon AND my twin brother kevsthaman!

Think maybe he likes me a little bit or somethin'? ;)

Oh yeah, I see it. :D

Very much so. Willing to risk the possibility of cross-species contaimination to comfort the suffering and having to watch an entire species die... :(

Just watched "Divided Loyalities" and "The Long, Twilight Struggle".

-Didn't really care for the Talia character, so I can't say I'm unhappy as to the turn of events. But it was still a shock. I was kinda thinking it would be Ivanova, but after she was checked and then Talia walked in, I knew it had to be her.
-Why oh why can't we the viewers see what Kosh really is?! :p

-Regarding TLTS... wow. I don't think Londo realizes it, but it's easy to say "this really is the last time" and then end up doing it again and again... :(
-I can't help but wonder what's going to happen to G'Kar and the rest of the Narn on the station... start of another rebellion perhaps?
-What exactly can these Rangers do to help out? Just gather information?
-Great special effects in the battle scenes. Quite different from Star Trek. And the music as the Centuari were attacking the Narn homeworld was excellent. It fit the scene perfectly.

hi, I haven't posted in this thread before but I have been reading with interest as I have been going through B5 for the first time recently as well. The reason I am posting now is I just finished watching Sleeping in Light 10 minutes ago and I don't know anywhere else to say this- Oh. My. God... no spoilers, but I just wanna say that that episode and the whole show was just amazing. I can't believe I never watched this show before now. That ending... so great... I need tissues... :( :( what did other people think of the finale? I want to go back to the beginning and watch the whole show over again.
Enjoy it Steven, its a fantastic ride.

Glad you found this thread stargirl. Sleeping in Light aired November 25, 1998 which was my 16th birthday. I spent that night lying in bed unable to sleep. I had gotten into Babylon 5 11 months earlier with the original broadcast of In The Beginning and I had just finished quite the ride.

As much as I love Deep Space Nine, The X-Files, Mystery Science Theater 3000 and other shows... Babylon 5 is simply the best, I believe.

Although Sleeping in Light didn't bring a tear to my eye like it did so many others, you can bet your pennies that the episode that closes Londo Mollari's story (The title of which is pretty much a spoiler...) did. The scene between Londo & G'Kar. It was one of the defining moments in my life that made me realize I have got to get into film & television myself and share the emotion that I felt watching Babylon 5.

My very favorite moment of the Babylon 5 story is from In The Beginning (Have you seen the tv movies, stargirl? If not, you should!) when Londo gives his speech about mankind "running out of time" I was proud to be a human, and I was proud to be a sci-fi fan! The music, the montage of images... That's when I knew I was going to end up watching every single episode of Babylon 5. This was back when I was 15. Six years later, and I love the show more than ever.

It's the biggest influence in my decision to one day try and executive produce my own television series.

I basically watched the last 6 six episodes back to back today, so that episode with the spoilerific title definetly got me going with the teariness and I don't think I completely stopped till the end... the last few episodes felt like one big goodbye, a big close to the series. I loved it! but sooo emotional. Yeah I loved that scene with G'kar and Londo, they have consistently given me some of my favourite scenes in the show (eg. g'kar offering londo a drink before the war, and where they are stuck in the lift hehe, and at the end of 'the very long night of londo mollari' etc etc). Great stuff :)
It's kind of sad being finished as I don't think we will ever see something like this on tv again... something where the whole story is mapped out from start to finish, and with so many great moments in between. (I am still heartbroken over the final scene of I think it was 'endgame,' the 'I love you..' I only watched it a few days ago and it still makes me sad. :()

edit: btw no I haven't seen the movies, I was told to wait until after I saw the series itself. Is there any particular order I should watch them in?

^ (to Steven)

Ya gotta hang in there, Steven. Believe us when we say the payoffs in this series are worth the wait. ;)

Hi, stargirl. :D "Sleeping in Light" reduced me to a complete wreck when I first saw it - at midnight on Sept.9, 1999. :p It took me about two hours to get to sleep afterwards. ;)

Edit: fixing formatting ugliness; directing post.

^Is that when B5 aired here? It sounds like the typical sci-fi timeslot (curse them!) Do you have any ideas if season 5 will be coming out on dvd here sometime soon? I had to hire it on video and after watching the first four on dvd it was kind of a shock. Plus I could only find one video store in the whole state (S.A) that had them and the tapes had been almost watched to death, the quality was slightly horrific- on some I couldn't even see the picture. But that didn't stop me from loving it :)
