I have the Babylon 5 - The Movie Collection set in my hot little hands!

Sometimes, life is pretty darn sweet.

I got the new Predator and Goodfellas DVDs as well.

'Nuff said.

I watched a couple, actually more like four, episodes of Farscape today. Pretty much all of them have been a lot of fun.

I thought that "They've got a secret" which I watched yesterday was a little...weird. I actually saw bits of it a while ago on Space and was confused as hell. While I wasn't confused this time, I have to say that while it did feature Crais, it was still...I don't know, sort of boring. The main villain was just lame, lol. :)

Another ep that I also watched yesterday was "Til the Blood Runs Clear". I liked this one a lot more. Crichton acting all tough was just so much fun, so was Aeryn being all submissive, cos she's never that way. :D It also had a lot of really good character interaction, especially between John and Aeryn.

The first ep I watched today was "The Flax". It was a decent ep made a lot better due to the interaction between John and Aeryn (again). Those two have just so much chemistry. :) That...female that looked like a guy, I forgot her name was just so damn funny. Especially at the end, where she was telling D'argo she loved him. :D

Next up is "Rhapsody in Blue", which I thought was a decent ep, even though it was a bit slow at times. I did like all the insight into Zhaan's past and her inner demons.

And now on to two really fun eps, first "Rhapsody in Blue". I thought this ep was great. In a way, it was very similar to Stargate's "One hundred days", and while Stargate's ep was a jewel, this one was just very good. I'm not really sure why I liked it so much, cos it was fairly hokey at times. But as usual, the character interactions were great. It was nice seeing that D'argo didn't want to give up the search for John (neither did Aeryn, but that was to be expected), I was surprised however that Zhaan was the one telling the others they should stop looking for him.

And now on to the last ep that I've watched so far, "Durka Returns". This episode was just frelling awesome. :D I didn't know Chiana came on the show this early in it's run, I just know I've seen her around a lot. Either way, it's cool that she's on the show now cos she seems like a cool character. A little weird, but still cool. :D Durka was also great. I didn't expect to see him again after PK Tech Girl. Anyway...like I said, I really liked this ep. I thought it was hilarious that Rygel tried to blow up Durka. You know, while he can be a pain sometimes, he's just so damn funny.

Speaking of Rygel, I loved how he tricked that...captain guy in "The Flax". That was just priceless, especially the look on Zhaan's face. :D

Anyway... I've got another 7 episodes of S1 to go. So far I'm pleased with the show, but there was one thing that sort of bugged me. For a while it seemed like every single ep had our 'heroes' fall under some sort of a weird influence. First you had that gauntlet in "Throne for a Loss", then D'argo was controlled by Matala in "Back and back and back to the future", then there was that peacekeeper plant that had everyone all happy in "That God it's Friday, again", in "DNA Mad Scientist" Aeryn got changed into...something, and in "They've got a secret" everyone was acting all weird. There were other little events that were sort of similar aswell, so honestly, that was getting a bit tiring. It's been fine in the last couple of episodes, so hopefully it'll stay that way for a while. :D

Don't get me wrong, this is just a minor nit-pick and I still like the show a lot. It was just something that bugged me a bit. :) I'll post more thoughts about the show after I watch a couple more eps. :)

So, BigFoot, it looks like you've got "A Human Reaction" coming up next, which is one of the, if not THE, pivotal episodes of the whole series. Enjoy! :D

^ Really? Cool, I love important episodes. :D I'm talking to my g/f online right now, but once she leaves I'll go watch the ep. :)

Alright, I just watched "Human Reaction" and my feelings about it are a bit mixed. I absolutely loved the first 40 minutes. That was some of the best television ever. Everything from the first ten minutes before John left Moya, to his interaction with his had to pretty much all the scenes with Aeryn. I especially loved the bit where John's dad says "thank you Aeryn Sun" when her and John were leaving the hideout.

On the other hand, I thought the whole 'alien simulation' bit was a huge letdown. I honestly never saw it coming. I thought it was all read, and that John would basically have to leave with the rest of the crew and that he'd never be able to go back to Earth. I don't know, I just felt cheated and I think that the next time I watch the ep, I might not love the first 40 mins as much cos I'll know what the ending is going to be like.

Anyway...I still liked the ep a lot, but the simulation thingy just brought the whole thing down a bit.

^ Like Vash and I told you after you watched Babylon Squared for the first time, you've got to wait until you see War Without End so that the whole thing will make sense. :D But once you do watch WWE, you're gonna be impressed by how well JMS planned the show. :)

I can't wait until then! I want it now!

[/whiney kid]

:D :p

^
Exactly. You've got so much great stuff to see, so forget about trying to annoy me :p and keep watching.

And B-Squared will make much more sense after WWE.

I understand your reaction (heh) to "A Human Reaction." It's not an episode I myself watch repeatedly, but later you'll see its importance in setting up future events...a few episodes later, in fact, when the main baddie of the series is introduced.

Damn! I was going to send a PM to you before you saw this... :p

And what's with the excessive use of  smilies?

What he said!!!!

Definitely!

Steven...I know it doesn't make sense now...but after you watch WWE, you will think it's frelling COOL!!!!

I *knew* you'd love it!!!! :D

This really is one cool episode. Nerve and The Hidden Memory are definitely the high points of the season...but this one is the third best episode of season 1, IMO.

And yeah...Chiana is introduced here...and stays on 'Scape until the end of the show. But I like her - she's actually one of my favorite 'Scape characters! :)

Speaking of Rygel, I loved how he tricked that...captain guy in "The Flax". That was just priceless, especially the look on Zhaan's face. :D

Yeah...I loved that too! And how he went on about what a dreadful player the guy was...and how it took all his wits just to lose to him! Rygel is hilarious! And he stays hilarious too! ;)

Glad you are enjoying the show, BigFoot. Can't wait until you get the the two 'biggies'. ;)

Alright, cool. :) Well I plan to watch more Farscape today. Just make sure you don't spoil anything for me. :D I mean vague things like that are fine, just nothing more substantial. :)

What does wrestling have to do with Babylon 5?

WWE = War Without End = A Babylon 5 two-parter :)

Hehe, yeah, I did love it. And I've only got two more episodes to go before I get to see "Nerve", so hopefully I'll love that and "The Hidden Memory" aswell. :)

Well Chiana didn't have a lot to do in "Human Reaction", but I still like the character. That bit where she's saying everyone else is gonna have to adapt to her is so funny. :D

Oh yeah, speaking of "Human Reaction", I'm not sure if you didn't see my post about it or not, but I'm curious to know what you think of the ep. :)

Lol yeah, Rygel definately is hilarious. :D And yeah, I definately am enjoying the show. It took a bit of getting used to, with it's wacky humour and stuff, but yeah, it's great. :D I also love their use of puppets, it's just so well done. :)

Anyway, we got our first medal yesterday! :D Bronze in judo, which was totally unexpected. But still, it's cool! :)

That's for us to know and you to find out.

I like those eps you mentioned, too. ;) Some of my favourite lines from the entire series in those ones...

Oooo, Babylon 5 goodness! Definitely worth waiting for when it comes to the future surprises. B5 and Farscape have some wonderful payoff eps. I remember really enjoying Durka Returns when I finally picked up on 'Scape a bit over 2 years ago. Just wait until the second half of season 2. Some really great stuff.

I've read a little bit of this thread and have yet to find mentions of Klingons, Ferengi, Holograms or me. I can't find a DS9 reference recently either. I thought Vash had better control of this forum. With the iron fist we use to hold over Miscellaneous, we never see spam like this!

Alright, here's my latest update on Farscape. :D It contains spoilers, so be warned.

SPOILER SPACE!!!

The first ep I watched this morning was "Through the Looking Glass". It was a pretty good ep, with a lot of fun stuff. :D Nothing special though.

Next I watched "A Bug's Life" which was so much fun. :D John playing a peacekeeper captain with a funny accent was just hilarious. The whole ep was just so much fun, hehe. :D

And next up, was a two-parter consisting of "Nerve" and "The Hidden Memory". I thought the two episodes really kicked some frelling ass. :D It was so awesome to see the tech girl again. I really liked her first apperance, and she was great again. But they killed her off! NOOOO!!!!!!!!!! I mean as much as I like John and Aeryn together, I didn't want her to die. :(
Anyway... Scorpy makes an interesting, yet hokey, villian. Sort of like the Goa'uld on SG-1. :) It was also nice to see Crais again, I actually like him a lot more as a villain then Scorpy. That could change with time though.

What I also really loved was the fact that we got to see a lot of Chiana in the two episodes, well at least in "Nerve". :) My first impressions of her were right, she is cool. :D She's still weird, but also cool, hehe.

END SPOILER SPACE!

Anyway...next up are the last two eps of S1 "Bone to be Wild" and "Family Ties". :)
