Hi guys.
So is anybody getting Kill Bill Vol 2 or are you going to wait for the super duper special edition The Whole Bloody Affair thing. I have Vol 1 and I'm in a real dilemma I don't know what to do. I might get it, I don't know.

Also, any of you guys watch Dead Like Me? How is the new season? The other night I caught Mandy Patinkin's appearance on one of the late night shows and he was hilarious. His summary of the show cracked me up. I still have to buy the first season.

^ I haven't decided about Kill Bill yet. I also have volume 1, and I don't know whether I want to get volume 2 or not. I'm not in Canada right now, so even if I did decide to get it, I wouldn't get it until the end of september. Most likely I'll just wait for the super duper release with both movies joined into one.
I'm a huge Dead Like Me fan, but I'm not watching S2 at the moment. I'm gonna wait till I get back to Canada so I can watch it together with my g/f. I also got S1 on DVD, which I absolutely love. :D

I'll likely get Vol. 2, and will probably get the super boxed set if QT reedits it into one movie.

Well, I busted my butt all day trying to rack up enough posts to make Commie by tonight, and I juuust squeaked in under the wire. :)

By the way, I saw Collateral this afternoon, and recommend it to anyone who's remotely interested in it. If you liked Heat, you'd probably enjoy this one, though no scene or moment matches the former's shootout (few could!).

^ I'm trying to make admiral by my third anniversary...but I really doubt I'll make it. Just been too doggone busy IRL, I'm afraid! :(

I'll go and check out coaster's entry, Steven! He sent me a PM about it, and I'm eager to read it! Hope he wins! :)

I spent 600 bucks yesterday at Best Buy!

I bought a 160 gig external harddrive for school, and an iPod with 15 gigs of storage capacity!

The really scary thing is, I actually have 13 gigs of mp3s! I charged the iPod up all night and it actually killed the battery copying over 3300 mp3s. I don't know if that's normal or not.

Does anyone else have an iPod? Even though I've only used it a little so far, it's definately my favorite tech toy I have. The only crappy part is it came with really bad headphones. They sound okay, but they literally are a pain to wear. They don't fit in my ear great. Also, I'm not sure if mine is a dud because the battery died from just moving tunes over. Anyone know about that?

What's new with everyone else??

Hi, The Evil Dead!

I don't have an iPod...but I know that ymf77 just bought one himself a couple of weeks ago. Don't know if you know him or not...but he is lovin' his new toy too!

As for me, I'm at home for the weekend. Was in Chicago last week on business (saw Top41 and jkladis again...it's always good to see them!) and will be in Youngstown, OH next week. Wonder if any BBS folks live there!

Last night, I watched 4 more episodes of The X-Files: Patient X, The Red and the Black, (which, of course I liked cus they are related to the alien/conspiracy arc) Travelers and Mind's Eye. I liked all of these quite a bit. Travelers had some gross bits, but it was good to see Fox's dad again. I'm really interested to see how this whole story fits together in the end.

I'm gonna try and watch the last 4 episodes of season 5 tonight...and then take a disc or so of season 6 with me on my trip. Don't know if I'll get time to watch it, but it's worth a shot!

Hope you all are having a nice weekend!

Why hello there, Vash!

That's cool you met a couple of your fellow mods. I really like Top41, I happen to bump into her a lot in the 24 threads too. She helped me find a book on Joss Whedon too, a biography because I was trying to learn more about some executive producers that I admire so I still owe her one.

Glad to hear you're enjoying your X-Files DVDs. One quick thing though, you might want to get your hands on The X-Files - Fight The Future (the movie) to bring along on your trip to Youngstown, OH. It falls right between the last episode of season five (The End) and the first of season six (The Beginning).

I think you can go ahead with season six without seeing it, but you'll enjoy the movie a lot more if you watch it right after season five. It's okay on its own, but it actually fits in great when watched in sequence. I don't know if you own it or not, but they sell it very cheap. I wouldn't be surprised at all if you could find it for 10 bucks or even less!

The most important thing about the movie is one of the concepts it introduces (I think it introduces it, anyway - not 100% positive though) about the aliens and the purpose of the black oil.

^ Oh! Thanks for the heads up on the movie!

I actually have it already...I was just waiting for the right time to watch it. Sounds like I am nearly at the right time!

Thanks alot! I'll take it with me! :)

And I've met Top41 and jkladis before...and a few other of the Chicago BBS'ers as well when I was up there this past May. This last week was just a 'reunion'. ;)

Well I've watched a couple of episodes of Farscape in the last few days. I watched Throne for a Loss last night, and I thought it was a lot of fun. Some of the jokes really cracked me up. :D Pretty much all the exchanges between John, Aeryn and D'Argo were priceless. :D Those three always crack me up, and so does Rygel. :) I have to say I really like the whole crew of Moya. They're a very original and fun bunch. :)

Well, I don't have an iPod, but I do have a Nomad Zen Xtra, and loading songs always chews up my battery. I usually make sure to have it plugged into the powere socket when I'm loading more than a few cds. So I don't think it's terribly unusual.

Yeah, that's been one of the major attractions for me to the series; the great character interplay (which mostly consists of bickering :D)

The miniseries can't get here fast enough!

^ Yeah, I think I should be done with the show by the time the mini series airs. :)
Anyway...just minutes ago I posted my 6000th post, so now I'm less then 2000 posts away from being promoted to a Vice Admiral. :)

^Congrats on the post milestone! 6000 seems so far away for me now...of course, I never thought I'd be at 2K by this point either! Good luck tackling the next 2000+.

Holy crap, there's football on tonight!

*turns to ABC*

It's preseason, but hey!

Glad you are liking Farscape, BigFoot! I had a feeling you might like it! ;) It's a great show. Actually, I love it so much that I named my Yorkshire Terrier, who I bought 2 years ago, Rygel. It sorta fits, cus he is very small, and very much a dominar.

You'll have to keep us posted.

Good work on getting to 6,000 posts. I'm pulling up on 16,000 myself. When I joined the board 3 years ago, I had no idea I would be here that long...or post that much. I can't believe I've been here almost 3 years!

Anyway...hope you all are doing okay. I'm in Ohio tonight, on business.

Awww that's so cute (about the puppy). :) I've got a 15 year old poodle, and despite the fact that she's almost blind and almost deaf, she's still the cutest little thing. :) And yeah....I'll post my thoughts about Farscape in here every once in a while. :)

Well, I'm doing good. Being back home has been so much fun. And man did I miss my mom's cooking. :D

Well, I just picked up Kill Bill V2 from Best Buy, and got one of those free nifty slipcovers that holds both V1 and V2. So, at least I'll have something to watch tonight!

I WILL NOT BE ASSIMILATED!! Well, not real soon anyway. 4 days pass and I'm only up by 1 (as of this post anyway) Take that, you Soulless Minions of Admiralcy! :p :D
 I need to find a way to shorten this enough to put it in a sigline!
Hmm, how about "I will not be assimilated by the Soulless Minions of Admiralcy!"? Or does that take the funniest parts out? ;)

Hey everybody!! Good to be back! Yep, I'm still struggling along to defect from Commieism  I don't think I've been here in what, a week?? So much to catch up on, I'm not even gonna try.

Well, maybe one or two. Congrats Sakrysta on the inclusion in the book. I'm definitely gonna have to read that one now.

I've been debating whether to buy Kill Bill I & II before the extended release too. I guess you can always sell them on ebay or some other place for used DVDs (or trade them in at places that do that kind of thing) when the extended edition comes out. I think I'm gonna hold out for the later release, along with the Hellboy extended edition.

mrcoaster's entry was HIlarious  Whatever that contest is, I hope he wins. Hmm, given how long I've been away, he probably already has (or lost).

The Evil Dead, you did some of MY KIND of spending man  Or what I wish I could do. I wondered if anyone could really use 15 gigs of space just for music. That's gotta be almost my entire CD collection. Ya proved me wrong ;)

OK, I may respond to others later. Gotta go on to more posts. Quantity, not quality!

...kidding.... :p

The really terrifying thing is my 15 gig iPod seems to be out of style. The ones they're heavily advertising now a days are the 4 gig iPod mini (It's just a bit smaller), the 20 gig iPod and... the FOURTY gig iPod. I have trouble filling my 15 gig. Can you imagine 40 gigs of tunes???

I think it doubles as a compact way of transporting other media, pictures, movies or what have you, but still...

Great toy though.
