Just carious, is Babylon 5 still on TV somewhere. If it is, which channel and when usually?

^ Well, last I heard, it was still on the Scifi Channel...but I don't know what time anymore. It used to be on in the late afternoon...but that was a while ago and let's face it - who knows with the Scifi Channel?

I checked and it isn't. One of these days (Not with DVDs) I hope to see Babylon 5 from the beginning. I remember liking it until they moved stations in mid season 2 or season 3.
I know that sometimes, the Scifi Channel sends various shows (including B5) on "breaks" of a couple of months or so.
You may want to check again later...maybe next month when school is starting and stuff. They change their schedule around so much, you might not get to see the whole thing...but you could at least see part of it before they change schedules again.

I'm really looking forward to watching Thirdspace on DVD. I know a lot of people give Thirdspace the thumbs down, but I love it... It was really cool when it came out in July 1998 to get to have one last adventure with the crew of Babylon 5 during my favorite era of the show - season 4. Plus, I got to watch Thirdspace with my dad, and my since passed away grandfather. Three generations of my family all watching Babylon 5. That was pretty cool for me.

The Evil Dead...I'm gonna respond to your X-Files related comments here, since in this thread, we can actually talk about the show without being off-topic.
And basically, I love The X-Files too. I didn't realize how much until recently...but I love it!
I watched the first few seasons on TV, but then I went to live and work in Russia for a year, and never *really* got into it when I came back. I watched the odd episode here and there...but obviously, with The X-Files, you can't really do that (miss an entire season, and then watch hit & miss) and understand much about what's going on - especially with the big arc. So I kinda lost interest for a while, and lost even *more* interest after DD left the show since he was just *great*, IMO.
However, when the DVD's started coming out, I decided that it was a good opportunity for me to catch up - and at my own pace. So I bought, and now have, all the DVD sets. I'm only in the middle of season 5 right now, but I'm *totally* loving the show. Season 4 was just *fantastic* - I think that I watched the entire thing in about 10 days (and the guys around here will tell you, this is *very* unusual for me! I was *always* behind in watching the DS9 DVD's last year!)! I just couldn't get enough...and was soooo worried about Scully and her cancer! I just had to watch it as fast as I could, to see what was gonna happen with that storyline!
Obviously, I have a long way to go, but I'm excited about it. I have seen some of the episodes past season 5...including some from the last couple of seasons with Doggett, etc. But I didn't really understand or appreciate them when I saw them on TV, cus I was so lost. I think that when I finally get to them on DVD, I will appreciate them alot more!
The X-Files is certainly right up there for me - I think that I prolly like DS9, B5, Buffy and Farscape a bit more...but The X-Files are right in there with those shows, IMO...and for me, being in the list with those shows means that I think it's pretty doggone good!

Actually, that's two things I've wondered about.
1) What region is your DVD player and/or DVDs? I'm assuming region 1, but then stuff in Europe won't work on it.
2) Where do the B5 movies fit into the storyline?
^ At the moment I personally don't even know a DVD player. I either watch stuff on my laptop (I cracked the DVD player, so it's region free), or I watch stuff on the family DVD player back in Canada. I'm permanently moving back home next year, so then I plan to get myself a region free DVD player. Right now most of my DVDs are R1, though some of them are R2 aswell. So yeah, getting a region free DVD player is the only way to go, and most of them around here are region free anyways, so no problems there.

I also believe The Gathering takes place before B5 starts, and I think it's told by G'Kar. I actually haven't even seen most of the movies yet. In the Beginning - 10 Years before Season One, but told by Londo Mollari about 17 years after the end of the series... Best to watch it after season four.

Soooooooo many good episodes. Do you have any favorites? Most fans really love the light hearted episodes Jose Chung's 'From Outer Space' (An author interviews Scully and various townsfolk about a recent alien abduction) and Bad Blood (Mulder & Scully offer differing accounts of Vampires in a small Texas town - about halfway through season five, you may not be there yet)... But myself, while I enjoy those fun episodes, am more attracted to the X-Files for the horror episodes. My very favorite episode, the episode that I think is The X-Files is Home. Mulder & Scully encounter an inbred family who... keep their armless, legless mother strapped to a board under the bed.
It was banned from U.S. television in its original version. It absolutely blew me away that in 44 minutes The X-Files created a scarier piece of entertainment then most horror movies that've come out in the last 15 years have done in 90 minutes of screentime.
I also loved Kill Switch from the fifth season, I don't know if you've gotten to it yet. It's a very sci-fi noir story, one of the most epic stand alone X-Files ever. A software program evolves intelligence and tries to destroy the planet. Actually, I don't remember if it was that extreme, but I thought it was a great episode.
The amazing thing about the DVDs after season five is that the show is now presented in widescreen format, and I'll be damned if it doesn't look like the most cinematic television series out there. At the fear of sounding like your typical film student, I am literally floored by some of the photography featured on the show. Even lousy episodes are seemingly more enjoyable just because they look great.
How many of the seasons have you picked up on DVD? Don't forget, when you get to the end of the fifth season, you should rent or buy (It's pretty cheap) the movie... Which, in my opinion, is a solid movie. It's actually not great if you watch it alone, but viewed after season five and before season six, it suddenly becomes quite entertaining. It's very much a movie about Mulder regaining his belief in alien life, and a scene toward the end where Mulder watches a large alien spacecraft pass overheard is quite touching due to the look on David Duchovny's face.
If you haven't bought all the DVDs, and are debating whether to go on or not, I'll say that season six & seven (Especially seven) are a step down from the previous three seasons, but I find Robert Patrick's arrival in the eighth year to have really added a lot of energy to the show. I'm only 5 episodes into the ninth season, so I can't comment too much on that one just yet.
It's great to be able to chat about X-Files for once. There's not a huge fanbase for the series anymore, unfortunately. No message board like Trek BBS whatsoever.

I really don't want to pay for another series. I'm already buying Voyager, and soon Star Trek, and I need to save up for other things. Besides, I really don't know what I'll be getting into and really don't see any worth in it.

That one is just plain scary-weird IMO! And kinda disgusting as well. Especially the ending. 
I have a tendency to prefer the episodes that contribute to the conspiracy arc, so prolly my favorite episodes to date are Gethsemane, Redux, and Redux II. I also really loved The Blessing Way and Paper Clip.
In terms of stand-alones, I'd have to go with Paper Hearts or one of the episodes that contribute to the backstory - The Usual Suspects or Musings of a Cigarette Smoking Man. But I also liked Hell Money alot...and Clyde Bruckman's Final Repose. Jose Chung's "From Outer Space" is kinda funny and I did enjoy it...but it's not among my favorites.
I have all of the seasons, btw. I bought them as they came out, cus they were on sale at Media Play and I figured I prolly wouldn't get them much cheaper. I'm working my way thru them, but I have not seen some of the season 5 episodes that you mentioned. I plan to watch one tonight though...whichever one is next (can't remember).
