A Journey

Aquiel - Finally, some sixth season TNG that I HAVEN'T seen! Interesting idea... found it rather surprising that it was the dog all along!

Face of the Enemy - And some MORE sixth season TNG that I haven't seen yet! All I can say about Troi as a Romulan is.... DAAAAAAAAAAAAAMN! She can be pretty kickass! Go Deanna!!!

Tapestry - Now THAT'S a good story!

Birthright 1 - Oh heck yes, one of my favorites, and I think it is quite obvious why! The scenes between Bashir and Data are great, the scenes with Data and Soong are great (once again, Brent Spiner is a damn good actor to pull that off!), so many things about this episode are absolutely GREAT! However... I'm not too big a fan of the Klingon subplot in this one... and I'm not exactly looking forward to part 2 (which I've never seen, but read the synopsis and script before... part 2 is nothing BUT Klingons...)

I've watched a few seasons as I acquired them on DVD, but not all at once. Its not easy to do!!! More power to you!

This was such a great three episode run. Despite what many others say, I loved Birthright I mainly because I loved seeing Bashir on the Enterprise and I consider the final Data dream sequence one of the most memorable scenes in the whole series. As for Face of the Enemy and Tapestry, yeah, those two episodes rocked. Deanna actually was awesome for a change, and Tepestry might be one of the greatest stories ever told in any Star Trek series. Wonderful use of Q too.

Birthright 2 - Apart from the fact that it's a nice little Klingon story, and the part where that young Klingon experiences the hunt for the first time, comes back victorious, and leads the group in song... it's boring as hell.

Starship Mine - I love this episode. It's really interesting. The comments about the saddle were funny, and Data's attempts to make small talk were funny, but I think he was being a little too enthusiastic. Didn't seem right for him. Besides, he also laughed a few times (it's easy to assume he was faking it) but it sounded much more natural than how he had laughed previously. Had Data been working on that?

Lessons - OMG this is a friggin CUTE episode! The scene where they play music together in the Jeffries tube is AWESOME.

The Chase - I'd remembered the beginning, but couldn't remember the end till they got to the part about the DNA then I was like "Oh yeah! I remember this!" The one REALLY good part of this episode was where the Klingon challenged Data to a kind of arm-wrestling contest and was beaten in a split second, then attempts to skull bash him. OMG it was so funny!!!

Frame of Mind - This episode is one big WTF moment. Just one massive mindfuck. I was happy to see the end where it's all straightened out.

Suspicions - Quite interesting. Guinan was funny.

Will post the other two of this disc later... I can't quite stay focused on watching Trek at the moment since there are other things I want and need to do.

Birthright I-Way better than part 2 unfortunately, but the dream sequence is one of my favorites in ST ever.

The Chase- I loved it when it came out, but in retrospect, it was even bigger than I thought. Its a huge part ofthe ST mythos and should be regarded with "City on the Edge of Forever", Yesterdays' Enterprise", and "BOBW" as one of Trek's best. Its the only ST episode to ever inspire me to write a movie synopsis for a sequel.

Quick thoughts: watched Birthright parts 1&2 the other day and really enjoyed it.

And I love Frame of Mind.

Just doing a little light housekeeping - this thread doesn't seem to be getting very many replies these days (last was in the first half of July), so I'm unsticking it from the top of the forum. If there's a big forum demand to resticky it, of course I will.

I just finished rewatching ENT in its entirety on DVD, and I started STNG yesterday again. I realized that I hadn't watched STNG for about five years, and I was feeling a bit rusty on it.

I watched Naked Now today, and I was pleased with how funny it was. I was LOL in some bits.

I apologize for resurrecting an old thread but I've FINALLY gotten around to continuing the series.

Rightful Heir - One could draw some interesting parallels to modern day religions with this, but I'm not going to, because it's no fun. Good episode otherwise.

Second Chances - Another "twin" episode.... Isn't having Lore enough? It's funny to see Riker boss himself around though.

Timescape - "He just kept talking in one long incredibly unbroken sentence moving from topic to topic so that no one had a chance to interrupt it was really quite hypnotic." LOL PRICELESS!!! And the smiley face in the warp core breach was hilarious too!

Descent 1 - Blech. I hate watching Data go over to the dark side. Even though I know the outcome I find myself talking to the screen, saying "No! Don't do it!" I hate Lore, and I don't like it when Data's not himself...

ZOMG! SEASON 7! ALMOST DONE!!!! (And I'm running out of episodes I haven't seen yet....)

Descent 2 - The only part of this episode I like is the story that Geordi tells about how Data tried to go swimming and sank to the bottom of the lake. That's frickin FUNNY! Nice to see Hugh make a return, though.

Liasons - Hehe... Poor Worf having to put up with that guy. I'm surprised Riker was able to hold him back during the fight. Also, that scene with the ambassador checking out the child and asking if he wants some dessert is wrong on so many levels (and hilarious for that reason) when you take it way out of context. XD

Interface - Poor Geordi... And I LOVE the scene where Data has to choose between following the rules or helping his friend. That was a very human decision he made there.

Gambit 1 - Heheh nice cover story from Worf at the beginning. It's great that Picard's ok, and DATA'S IN COMMAND AGAIN! YAAAAY! Nice cliffhanger too.

Gambit 2 - That scene where Data is telling off Worf for his behavior is one of my favorites. Data is so awesome when he's in charge! The ending is absolutely HILARIOUS when Data takes Riker to the brig! Probably one of my most favorite endings ever!

And that's where I'm up to.

^ Not at all. I really like Descent. They are a couple of episodes I put on to watch when I want to watch a varied Trek episode with lots of stuff in it. I like the scenes with Data and Geordi, and I like the fire fight at the beginning with Worf and Riker. I even like Crusher in charge of the bridge. Also, it always takes me by surprise that the credits are not the usual.

Phantasms - It's weird, it's interesting, it's a good episode but I don't like the part where Data tabs Troi. Worf taking Spot and sneezing on her was HILARIOUS!

Dark Page - It's official. An episode of Star Trek has made me get teary-eyed. That was just SAD! :( And it's also probably the best Troi episode I've ever seen (though I thought she was pretty badass in Face of the Enemy.) And it's just not the same when Lwaxana isn't being hilariously obnoxious the entire time.

Attached - YEAH! SCORE ONE FOR THE P/C SHIPPERS!!! I know of a few people who must have LOATHED this episode but I thought it was adorable! I was mentally yelling at the screen towards the end... "JUST KISS ALREADY!"

Force of Nature - Erm... Interesting.

Inheritance - Yay! Data meets his mommy! GREAT episode!

Parallels - Starts off funny, but gradually becomes more WTF as the episode goes on.

I'm glad someone else liked Dark Page. There was a time I wouldn't want to watch it because I had nightmares (Mrs Troi being all bitchy in the corridor, and the rest of the telepath scenes) but after I got away from that, it ended up being a great and emotional episode. My favorite TNG Troi episode.

K-Star,

Where you ever going to finish? I know it's been a while, but I enjoyed what you had to say about the episodes and you were almost done. Hopefully you get back into it.

I actually finished... but forgot to write down stuff about the other episodes I watched! I'll have to look through the list again, see what I remember, and post what I thought...
