A GI: Joe MMO would you play it?

I was talking to some of my friends at a local gaming store and we got on the subject of MMOs. One of the most untapped franchises right now for an MMO would be GI Joe. Imagine it for a second? A blend of Brother in Arms with a typical MMO. PvP would be GI Joe vs Cobra across the world. You wouldn't necessarily have to walk across the entire frigging US or the World but actually port to different spots and take planes to different local and such (think Guild Wars). I think that it is a massively underrated franchise in the gaming department. Think about the customization and the characters. Boot camp with Big Boa or Sergeant Slaughter/Beach Head...fun :). But yeah. I think that some of the missions would be an absolute blast for both sides.
 
No. I love my GI Joes and I don't like them toutched or messed with but thats already been done to me. 2000s tv shows and This gosh darn movie thats comming:scream: boooo!
 
I'd give it a shot...

I'm getting a little worn out on the sword and sorcery genre, as good as WoW and Warhammer are.

I'm looking forward to DC Online and Star Trek Online, I hope those are cool.
 
I'd have to be in! Along with the Batman franchise, GI joe is high on my list of fave's.
I'd definately check it out.
Here's hoping the new movie is 1/2 as good as Transformers!
 
I'd give G.I. Joe a chance, sure.

Hopefully it would be almost entirely pvp, and the skill and dedication of the players on each side would literally determine who rules the world.

I can just see it now, everyone thinking it is so cool to be Cobra, swamping the few Joe players in a sea of bodies. The Joes have to retreat to a few hidden bases scattered throughout the world as Cobra seizes all the major nations and cities of the world.

Just make pvp that matters and I'm onboard.
 
Hopefully Stargate Worlds will be my first ever MMO.

My thing with MMOs is that they sound awesome, but I'm horrified of becoming addicted to one and forgetting to feed my dog. Or something.
 
Back in what seems like a previous lifetime, I worked as a game designer for a well known game company. The lead designer on the team and I worked briefly on a side project of our own, which was to make a G.I. Joe RTS. The problem though was that the company did not have that license. Once we felt we had a good design concept, we talked with the higher-ups about the company acquiring the license, but that hadn't gone anywhere by the time the company hit financial trouble and started downsizing (my team included).
 
I'd rather have the FPS, and have the ability to fight as either Joe or Cobra.

One thing I liked from Quake III (and Voyager as well) was the ability to set up an arena and play against whatever ai characters you want. Who wouldn't want to fill an arena with Dr. Mindbenders and give them all the grisly deaths they deserve?
 
um, me?

i'd just like something like CoD 1 or 2, with a decent SP campaign and then some class based, vehicle included MP
 
why would it NOT be great?

hell, on reflection, i'd even get behind a remake of UT3 with Joe vehicles and characters where the SP campaign is just a series of TDM or Assaut type missions...
 
I'd certainly give it a shot as well. Those were some of my favorite toys of my childhood so understandably I have some fond memories.
I think a Joe FPS would be awesome too, as a few have mentioned before. It was really made as an FPS, maybe even something very tactical with teammates ala Rainbow Six I would be very interested in.
