The other day I listed my minor gripes with the new film, a film I loved on whole by the way
Today I list a few things I really loved
1. The overhead top view flyby after they beam Spock out of Krakatoa and just before the titles. This model, in my opinion, does not love the camera at certain angles in the way TMP prise did BUT she looks gorgeous in this shot , breathtaking.
2. Admiral Buzzkill, might be my fav. Scene in the movie. Greenwood is awesome and that cock block look he gives pine is priceless. Wish they let Pike live and stick him in a chair with a red blinky light so they could do menagerie for the next film
3. Karl urban in every scene he was in. Not to offend but In MY OPINION his is the best and closest portrayal of the portrayal that came before him.
4. Peter Weller up until his last scene where he goes into his stupid Col. Jessup speech. Brilliant until that cringe inducing speech.
Admiral Robocop owns
5. Klingons not being stupid space tai chi samurai Navajo biker tea ceremony Vikings as ruined and portrayed in the next gen. Badass sinister and menacing Cold War jackboots, those are real Klingons
Kudos
6. Spock goes apeshit. This Spock saw his world and his mother die and the final straw was seeing his best friend die a horrendous irradiated death. His only release has been apparently making out with his girlfriend in front of various crewmates and aside from his minor outburst bitch slapping Pine in the first film has been repressing about as much deep ass ragey shit as a man can chew on. Trust me I know my girlfriend is as bipolar as she is gorgeous and when she pops her cork it's ugly. Spock unleashing Valhalla on Khan made a lot of sense to me
7. Star Trek imperial star destroyer. Old dumb argument between trek and wars geeks over who would win in a fight Kirk and the E or an imperial star destroyer. Guess what not only could giganticaprise prob win anyway with its ups scaled super warp speed and weapons but if it runs into trouble we can build imperial star destroyers of our own but with superior trek weapons and beefier warp technology. Eat shit George Lucas this federation could crush the galactic empire
