A Few Questions About Pre-Ordering Movie Tickets

Now Star Trek is the first movie that I have gotten excited enough about that I want to pre-order tickets for the midnight premier. I've got a few questions.
When do tickets for XI start going on sale? Is there a website where I can get them?
Is there some sort of "universal" ticket that is good for any theater? Or do I need to go to my local theater and order from there?

Thanks.

For the most part, inquiry at your local cinema would net the most accurate info for you.

I mean, I could give info for my theater but the odds of it doing you any good are slim to none.

I can tell you for sure, the Kellogg's site shows free tickets are available with POP TARTS which, based on my experience do work universally within a given movie chain, (Regal or AMC, for example) but whether they work at a Premiere I do not know.

Just ask your theater for the best results.

Two online places to watch for movie ticket and showtime information:

http://www.fandango.com/startrek_112813/movieoverview

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0796366/cinemashowtimes?location=change

Type in your zip code, and they will show which theaters in your area are showing a movie at what times. (Yes, I know there are no listings showing for this movie now, but soon.) Fandango is one of the largest outlets for ordering movie tickets in advance, but I'm sure there are others. I don't know anything about "universal" tickets, but I'd guess that they're not common.
