A Desperate Plea to J.J. Abrams and Co.

Not everyone here is praising every release from Paramount. I've seen both but I think many of us are trying to be optimistic about what this movie will be. Besides, you've been here long enough to know if this thing is as bad as the beating the Vikings took from Green Bay last week, we'll say it.

Put Shatner in the next movie. He made Star Trek what it was ! Just put him in at the end.
He would bring the house down in an unbilled cameo. Star Trek 12 can still be about the new younger crew in the mid 23rd Century.

Shatner said in an interview that he doesn't do cameos. I for one really don't care if he's in it or not. He helped to make Star Trek what it was, but so did Nimoy, so did Patrick Stewart, so did all the other actors and writers and producers over the decades. I love reading this forum, but I'm really beginning to finding this constant "Shatner should/must be in the movie" type posts to be very tiresome especially when it is increasingly unlikely that it's going to happen at all for this movie.

I don't disagree. But the subject of this thread is whether any of us should dare to question any of the known production decisions.

We are told to "keep an open mind" or "wait and see." If we all accept that mindset, why bother to post here at all? Let's all be happy and patient and close the board.

Not quite.

We can discuss, complain, question, vote, and fight all we like. We can make parody threads as long as we label them as parody threads in the thread title. That's all fine and good.

I'm just pleading with J.J. Abrams to never listen to us.
