Used book stores, and specialty bookstores catering to niche markets (e.g., Christian bookstores, comic book shops). That doesn't change the fact that once the B. Dalton's closes there will be no national chain bookstore in Laredo, a town of a quarter million people (plus all the people who might come across the border from Mexico to shop).Yellow pages shows thirty remaining book stores and other businesses that have book departments.
CNN isn't the only news outlet to have reported on this, either, but why let facts get in the way of a chance to slam the media?People never take anything CNN says seriously.
Laredo, Texas, population 250,000 now has no bookstores at all.
