A Christmas Story and It's a Wonderful Life

Oh, and I've never watched A Christmas Story. Everything I saw struck me as tasteless. Now, I know from the testimony of many friends over the years that my impression is likely false, but I still have no real desire to see the movie. *shrug*

Tasteless?

TASTELESS?

Of all the diametrically opposite adjectives to apply to that movie ...

Sweet, nostalgic, lovable by virtually any political or social POV.

Are we talking about the same movie?

I could see how such a thing *could* be construed if all they've seen are pieces of it. But, yeah, the movie is far from tasteless. It's a perfect little modern-day Christmas story. It's the kind of story you tell your kids of your own youth (the dramatic situation that presumably drives the movie behind the events shown on screen.)

I highly reccomend it. The movie is far, far, FAR from tasteless.
