I remember back when SciFi Channel aired Doctor Who the bastards didn't have captioning. When I was watching the Doctor and the Master talk about the Time War in "Sound of Drums" I had to rewind the scene ten goddamn times to understand what they were saying!

I'm glad i'm not the only one who sometimes has trouble understanding what Capaldi says. I'm Irish and would say I have a good ear for most accents. Never had this problem before. I think maybe his voice is a bit lower, he speaks a bit more under his breath and his voice has a little bit of a worn edge to it.

Tennant would do that sometimes. When the doctor was in deep though he'd run his hand through his hair and mumble something


It took me like 6 times to understand a part from "into the dalek"

"This is gun girl and she's got a gun.........same one as her boss?"

Or something like that.

One pet peeve that isn't a dealbreaker -- this show cannot seem to get the concept of the group slo-mo walk right. Yes, it's an attempt to be smooth, cool, and bad-ass, but whenever the show does it, it seems choppy, forced, and filmed incorrectly. I also had this problem in Day of the Doctor with War, Ten, and Eleven.

Are you watch in the UK or in the US? If you're watching it in the US, it's being converted from 25 FPS to 29.97, which is going to potentially screw up things like that.

Doctor Who has trouble with the slo-mo walk because the show is more used to having it's characters running about corridors. : )

I've had issues understanding Capaldi, but I've had issues understanding various characters at various times on the show.

I definitely agree the music is too loud and makes people on the show hard to understand.
