80's technology picture thread!

I have an actual Intellivision around here somewhere....

[re: a 5=1/4" Floppy case] I love how they were lockable - as if that would deter anyone from stealing your Oregon Trail if they really wanted to. Sort of like those hooks on screen doors that pass as a "lock".
What's even more funny is that them being lockable is stupid because if someone wanted what was in it they could simply just take the whole box!

Well. There's that.

Why is every ad I've ever seen for a TV always has a guy playing football, or on a football field, or something to the effect of football?

A personal piece of 80's tech..

I owned one of these and hunted Cameros and Mustangs with it..

Behold, the 1984 Colt GTS Turbo..

no one would take it seriously until it was too late..

Maybe. But it's just a piece of junk.
And rebuilding everything on a car except the exterior is not an option since...?

Don't worry, first I need my new Camaro, a new daily vehicle to save some gas and then when I'm really getting spare money over there are a few others on the list first. Like a 68 Dodge Charger R/T, but that don't count in this thread.
My favorite 80's tech - The X-29:

I always did love the look of that. Wasn't it insanely complex to keep in the air though?

I've always interpreted the locks as a business related thing, where a locked case means "don't use these disks", to ensure that important data wasn't overwritten. I don't believe it was ever supposed to prevent theft.

Also I suppose that those disks which did need accessing, had to be requested from the key holder, who was no doubt responsible for keeping track of them. With an unlocked case, important disks could easily be lost.

Behold!!! The TRS-80!!! The finest piece of technology Radio Shack had to offer. You can tell because it comes with the tape recorder.

OH MY GOD!!!! I used to play that Star Trek game on the "Trash-80" in my High School's "computer center".

Hey, it was faster than playing on the '50s era teletype terminal (though, it did have the fancy-schmancy tape reader attachment.)

God, I'm old .... :borg:
