I thought it would be fun to have a picture thread, that is guided by 80's nostiga! I wany everyone to post pics of 80's era tech. It can be anything from cars to cell phones to Atari to toasters. Only catch is that it has to come from the 80's.

What's better than blu-ray? Betamax!

Atari, LaserDisc, cool commercials, some of TV best offerings ever, and "Ghostbusters". What's not to love about the 80's? Aside from giant puffy girl hair.

^ I remember wanting one. We had them at school and I just thought they were the best thing since sliced bread. At the time, I owned a Commodore 64, which was awesome in it's own way, but these? These were luxury cars compared to my computer.

I took one into a computer repair place, and the girl behind the counter, who had never seen one before, made the flip comment "hey, you know they make laptops in smaller sizes now!"

Behold!!! The TRS-80!!! The finest piece of technology Radio Shack had to offer. You can tell because it comes with the tape recorder.

I remember that ad! :D
Of course, I got my Commodore 64 for $60 at a garage sale. We took it home and the monitor didn't work, but the core/keyboard and floppy drive worked! So we hooked it up to my 19" TV in the bedroom and glorious, glorious Pixels be praised! I had Strip Poker (in all her ANSI glory), Baseball, and I programmed a few of my own by following along in the BASIC codebook that came with the computer. I designed a program that would work as a bank ledger. It worked great and only took me a week to create! I even logged onto Q-Link a couple of times, but never registered.

Wow, how quickly they forget their roots.
