Not to mention The Great Dictator before all of them. ;)

word.

Though Chaplin was a Brit...

Well, we could throw out The Three Stooges "You Nazty Spy!" from the same year.
And Bugs Bunny, the era was filled with comedic spoofs of Hitler and the Nazis, it's the post war knowledge of their actions which has made laughing at Dolph and his cronies seem like not taking their actions seriously enough.

The actions should still be taken seriously, but the people should be shown up for what they were, ie a jumped up little corporal and his cronies, we should shine the light of ridicule on them and anyone even remotely like them.

This was the worst episode in the whole history of Doctor Who, beating even A Good Man Goes to War. The point where new Who disappeared up itself completely while giving old Who a few knocks around the face for bad measure. It's actually had me missing RTD.

I thought you were banned.

Nothing in particular. I just could've sworn a New-Who-hating poster known as "Bones" had been banned for going one step too far one too many times. His posts tended to be as, let's call it "creatively critical" as yours in this thread have been.

"Not laughing at Nazis"? Don't tell Mel Brooks that. He's rather eloquently said precisely why he makes people laugh at them. Heck, at his Kennedy Center Honors, he pulled out a comb to use as a mustaches and "heiled" the standing ovation he received.

I think Brooks is the only person to really succeed at that (aside from Hogan's Heroes).

I am he, and if you think a legitimate opinion on the quality of a TV show can be a "step too far", then I can only assume you must work on the show or something.

Now that introductions have been made, there's no need to revisit that particular topic. ;)
