3some with Brad Pitt

I was watching TREK last night. I know it would be every Star Trek fan's dream to go inside the holodeck/suite and sex it up with, well, practially anyone. If you found out spouce was having sex with a hologram, would that make you jealous? I mean.. think of it..

You come home from a hard day of work re-setting the warp core, or whatever. You come in your quarters, kiss your wife. She askes,"How as your day?". You tell her you were busy all day, not even time for lunch because of all the work. Then you ask, "hey, how was your day?"

She says she went to Quarks, and created three Brat Pitts and well, you fill in the blanks!!! All at the same time!!! Would that get you mad, and you'd get back at her by going down there and, not only fracking with two Angelia Jolies, you create three Brad Pitts and shoot them to death with your phaser?

Can marriages be ruined by fake sex (though it looks real to me) with Holograms?

I think it could. After all, Admiral Paris thought it was weird enough that Barcley spent all that time in the holodeck with a holographic version of his son, and there wasn't even anything sexual about it.

i THINK I've heard refrences in the series to holodeck credits.
They'd have to have something to prevent addiction to it.

But that does present an intresting scenario...because most would not tell the wife

I dunno... I'd like to think sexual holoprograms should be along the same lines of pornography, but the interaction is what kinda throws it off.

Some women get jealous when their men watch porn, so yes these same personality types who are quick to jealous rage would be jealous of holograms. (Be they male or female) Having never been married myself, I can't judge wether this is sufficient to end a marriage, it would of course depend on the personality types involved and a number of other factors. If the holo sex was kept secret it would not affect the marriage at all just like any infidelity. Of course like all secrets they are only easy to keep from fools.

IMHO

Absolutely! Marriage is a commitment to stay faithful. If you think you might ignore that some day, don't make the promises to start with. Whether it's a hologram or a person IRL or a blow-up Barbie doll doesn't change that the one taking the action is deliberately choosing to betray their vows to the other person in the marriage. If that's all their word is worth, why trust them?

Doesn't matter whether it's kept secret or not, it signals other problems that need to be dealt with: the truth usually comes out one way or another. Either in the participants behavior or later actions. i.e. "Not tonight honey. I've got another headache" when they're not supposed to have had any for weeks.

It's infidelity not entertainment. The person arranging and commiting the act is deliberately betraying the person they're supposed to be commited to: Deliberately cutting them out of the intimacy and the picture. Regardless of addiction aspects, deal with the source. Get to the heart of the problem! Shooting holograms doesn't fix a problem with the spouse.

Of course, I'm just a tad biased on this score. :( Being older than some of our posters and unfortunately, wiser via experience (the one being cheated on).

And as for the idea of 3 Brad Pitts! Puhleeze...*bleah* The only worse idea is 3 Angelinas.

Now, 3 Robert Beltrans...that would be a whole other story! Being single, about the same age and all, I can say that and not get into any trouble. ;) I'm allowed to say it! Perfectly appropriate. :techman:

You're ducking. Would have any problem with your significant other, should some day you date in the future, having HOLOSEX with practically real people in the form of Holograms???

A more likely scenario is the husband running through all the "holodeck" credits playing with his animated sex toys in the holodeck while his wife is out.

It would be wrong to do that, if you put yourself in the situation of being married then you need to stay faithful. After all no one put a shotgun-phaser to your head to get married.

But if I walked in on my wife having a Brad Pitt holo-sandwich, I think I'd pull my best Archer impersonation and toss the ho out of the airlock. And then shoot her while she floated away. Then take out the shuttle and ram into her body a few times in space. Then grab her with a tractor beam and fly her straight into the Bajoran sun.

Yes :)

It's a personal choice and the reasons are complex (in my case) but all of them centre on intent and motive. It indicates lack of consideration and respect for the significant other not involved in the holographic interaction.

Real people or not, the partner getting involved is making choices and taking actions to participate in intimacy with someone/thing else.

If that's their attitude to being in a relationship with me then they should know me better than that. If they don't care about my POV, why would I want to be involved with them any longer?

In short, it's selfish and self-centred. That's not what being in a relationship with someone is about: Especially marriage.

They've lost perspective.

Regardless if one has sex in real life on in a hologram, it is still cheating and being unfaithful to their spouse.
