3 ways we liberals can prove were not snowflakes?

It's such an odd insult. Snowflakes are unique, that's bad? Are we all supposed to be exactly the same?
Individual snowflakes are delicate and melt easily. That's why the word is used as an insult.

It's become an insult that gets used across political lines and toward entire demographics of people.

Do they think that's clever?
Apparently they do.

Did you hear about the 69-year-old doctor who was literally dragged off a United Airline plane a few days ago because he refused to be "volunteered" to give up his paid-for seat to an airline employee?

There was a disgusting troll in the CBC comment pages who referred to him as a "child" and wanted him tasered, pepper-sprayed, and shot, while a couple of other commenters called the passenger a "snowflake" (or maybe they were referring to those of us defending the passenger? After 4 articles over the past 5 days, it's becoming a blur).

An innocent word that evokes the beauty of winter has become a word that evokes tension, discord, and even hate.

Naturally all those who thought the passanger in question was in the wrong would be the first to volunteer to give up their seats on a plane in a similar situation.

Yeah,, they'd all sign up....Not!

Oh yeah, Shiny, Germans weren't the only fascists out there-there were also Italians, East Europeans, Spaniards, and Japanese. All of these others must share in the blame for starting it (and adapting to it, in the case of the East Europeans.)

The OP is talking about polarization. I think his inability to see the hypocrisy is mirrored in the knee-jerk drive-by insults in response to it. You can't have polarization unless both sides feed into it, which is what's happening, fueled by the perceived anonymity and free-for-all attitude of the internet.

I don't have any solutions but you can't get anywhere if both sides just fire rhetorical catapults at the other side.

Actually I was just going for the humor in the entire situation. I find the whole idea of trying to change society with catchphrases to be really funny. Especially when everyone seems to ignore the biggest problem in America and that is class warfare. I know it's a neverending war in which the rich always win, but nowdays the poor don't even seem to win any battles.

Just accept the fact that 99.99% of politcans are liars only intersted in themselves and not the common good and you can minimise polarisation in politics.

As for the 0.01% well one has to live in hope but I won't hold by breath. ;)
