25th Century Excelsior Class Remodel

I linked to it back in the first page of this thread. Check my second post.

So you mean davemetlesits Excelsior B?The 3 deflectors don't do anything for me I'm afraid. Makes no sense really either. Why just add 2 extra deflectors to the original Excelsior design if the original worked sufficiently with one deflector.

davemetlesits made the image, but the mesh/design is definitely Tachy's.

like lennier1 said, its a digital antique. I remember seeing it around when I first started frequenting 3D forums when I was like 14, so it is an oldie.

I saw this on another forum. Its a new class not a refit.

That has got to be the doing of Star Trek: Miranda... or STO. Either way, it is hideously ridiculous.

*scrubbing so hard with soap in the shower that muscle and bone is exposed, while sobbing*: "I CAN'T GET CLEAN!!!"

I just threw up a little in my mouth, there. If I had really "gone with it" and "explored the studio space", this thread would look like it was filled with pepperoni pizza.

I'm not sure what would be "updated" on an Excelsior besides internal systems, it's already the perfect starship ;)

Excellsior doesn't need a refit.
Frankly the design is Timeless and futuristic no matter what century.
I say work on an original design inspired by the Excelsior because there is really no reason to refit the Excelsior for the 25th century as it would be replaced by then even if there is no Excelsior replacement now.

In all likelihood, since the Excelsiors were used as cannon fodder along with the Mirandas and Centaurs in the Dominion War, any that survived will likely be either scrapped, or kept close to home for mundane patrol, as Starfleet uses the remaining Ambassadors, Nebulas, and Galaxies to fill their roles, while even newer ships are built to take on the roles of front-line ships and such.

I have to say that the attempt at the 25th century Excelsior with Sovereign nacelles is not really a good kit-bash attempt.
Certain parts are way too large and the nacelles simply don't fit... neither does the overall design.

I think the Enterprise-B as seen in the movies is enough of a refit to help the design survive into the 25th century, and most technological upgrades would be on the inside (but none of the new ones would be constructed in the TNG and beyond era because there would be no point).
The ones in service (depending on how many are left) would likely undergo a refit, but would probably look like the Lakota if anything else with even more advanced systems (but I doubt that SF would bother with that old design any-more).
