The Wrath of Khan first appeared on the big screen.

What a hoot that must have been, especially after the relative disappointment of the Motion Picture. Another film I wished I'd seen in the cinema on its first release, but then I wasn't even two when it premiered ;)

I was in 8th grade. My brother had to drive my friends and 25 miles to a theatre that had a 70mm print and dolby sound. We sat in the front row. It was great. From that point forward, I saw each ST movie on opening night. Oddly enough, my wife and I went to see NEM on opening night with our 3rd child who was about a month old. She slept through the entire thing. We sat in the back and had her in her car seat. I was next to the door in case she woke up.

I was 16. I was in the lower sixth at school (as an indication of how old I am how many folks here even know what that means!) I remember reading the novelisation under the desk in classes and being disappointed by bits that were in there but not the film. I remember thinking that the idea of a Romulan/Vulcan was so cool. Kirstie Alley's Saavik is still one of my all time favourite Trek characters.

Wrath of Khan. I adore it.

Khan is the only Trek movie I have not seen on the big screen. Alas that I am on the opposite side of the country from Santa Monica. :(

It's playing in Boston at the Coolidge sometime in the next two weeks too. Although, that's still a bit of a hike from WV.

I was 21 years old and on active duty with the US Army at the time. Some friends and I comandeered a truck and drove 25 miles to see the movie.

I remember that night like it was YESTERDAY! Dear Lord, has it been that long? I was twelve and went with my brother, sister and some friends. I knew nothing about it going in. It was awesome.

My uncle took me to see it in Biloxi MS on the opening weekend when i was 7, The theater was still there until Katrina whisked it off to theater heaven. I remember my uncle telling me, "you like the show, wait til you see this!"

I was 2-1/2 and probably more interested in whether 2 would be the number of the day on Sesame Street. ;)

That's exactly the boat I was in. Except I was more of a Romper Room kinda dude.
