Right now, peace and prosperity is coming to America. It's a great thing we've built with my awesome aid, but all of that may come crashing to and end sometime in the next day or so if I can't do something to stop it. Unfortuantly, as a retired man taking on the duties of a live-in grandfather I've got a play-date to chaperone, I need to go to the store to pick-up some Ensure and, OH there's a New Yankee Workshop marathon on! Screw it, I'll Tivo it. My name is Jack Bauer and I'm too old for this shit.

This thread is for all four episodes between both nights of 24's Season 8 premiere (Sunday and Monday.) The Bauer Power Hour is Returning!

Can't believe we're going to start another season of 24. Unlike my mood before Redemption, I'm actually looking forward to this, especially seeing Katee Sackhoff again. Hopefully it's a different character from Starbuck but we'll see.

It's too bad they don't advertise on this web site so people would know it's on. Heck, it's such an awesome show they should even make a really obtrusive ad so everyone will know.

I'm really looking forward to this. I was a bit aprehensive for season 7 but I loved the majority of it, so I guess I'm back into 'watch it as it airs mode.' I hope the presidential storyline doesn't get stuck in the same rut it was in for about a quarter of the season.

I think the presidential storylines are ALWAYS stuck in a rut from the get-go. It was marginally interesting back in season 2, and Logan's scheming was kind of fun in season 5, but usually it's just a big time suck that takes away from what I want to be watching: Jack Bauer kicking ass, with occasional help from Tony.

The "Presidential Storyline" in the first season was OK as it had meaning and a good connection to the main story (and, granted, it wasn't a Presidential storyline but it was the closest thing to it S1 had) but since then the Presidential Storylines have been lame, also any side-personal issues that CTU members had (Driscoll and her nutso daughter, for example.) And of course there's also all the intraoffice drama ("There's a national crisis going on, but I'm going to use it to grandstand to the boss becuase he gave a subordinate a more meaningful task than me!")

But, I'm looking forward to this, 24 -as silly as it can be- is almost always a lot of fun (I'm looking at you Season 6!) and just awesome to watch.

Give 'em hell Grandpa Bauer!

Wow it seems like forever since it's been on! I'll watch the two hour premiere and then bail for a while in favor of Heroes (yes, I am certifiably insane) :rommie: but Heroes will be over w/n a few weeks and ahhl be bahk.

I don't spose 24 is being re-aired later in the week? I guess there's always hulu...is it even on hulu?

I hope we don't have any cougars or scuba-diving African terrorists this season.

They don't do that anymore for whatever reason. For season one, they would reair the episode later in the week a couple times on FX, but that was it.

Yeah, it will be on Hulu and Fox.com.

I eagerly await them explaining why there are mountains in Queens this season.

I checked my local schedule for Sunday. Primetime on Fox kicks off with the season finale of "24" Day 7, with Jack in medical crisis. Is this episode showing nationally?

If you have digital cable, you should check to see whether HEROES is available as a free On Demand show. My cable service (Time Warner) offers a lot of free network shows, available one or two days after they originally air. I can catch up on CHUCK and HEROES if I miss them on Mondays.

I looked up my local schedule and that's what it shows too -- 24 season 7 finale, Human Target and then 24 season 8 premiere which goes from 9-11 p.m. I thought Fox didn't have programming for 10 p.m.

My cable shows the same thing, normally networks have the 7/6c hour for affiliates and Fox has the 10/9c hour for affiliates too, but it seems tonight is a special exception where Fox is going to have programing in the third primetime hour.

Totally agree. 24 has always had silly periods - Teri's amnesia is one of my favourites. Office bickering inbetween national crises is funny as hell because it just wouldn't happen. I think the silliness is just part of the 24 mythos now, and it just wouldn't be the same without it.

I'm pretty sure on Sunday's FOX has the 7/6 Central Hour (Basball/Football/King of the Hill).

If there are, Jack can always order some Chinese take-out! Or take out some Chinese, take your pick.

Seriously, like most of you here, I'm pumped for tonight. Jack's gotta be my favorite TV character (sorry, Jim Kirk!) and I've been looking forward to 24's return.

Trekker, that was a really great intro. Still chuckling over it.
