I'm doing average too.

The stupid hillbilly subplot is dragging things down, like, BIG TIME.

But finally, at least, it seems like Jack's getting back into the action some.

Next week? A Jack torture scene!

I went with "good", because I like the Jack & Renee portions of the episode. Yeah, the Starbucked plot was typically pitiful, but the rest was good enough to me to compensate. Almost.

There was just way too much of it. The episode spent quite a bit of time with the dumb boyfriend and his partner in crime. I mean, do the producers of this show really think we care about these characters and their plot along with Starbuck?

Thankfully it looks like next week the "main" plot will pick up. But I really wonder why the low-key episode this week. It's SWEEPS for crying out loud!

Person who just came in: "Yeah! I need some brake work!"

:guffaw:

Probably a Toyota owner too I bet. ;)

The one thing I'll say in fairness to Dana, when Hastings yelled at her to get it together, she should have yelled back at him "Stand up straight!"

Average stuff. The misadventures of Redneck DiCaprio and evil Daniel Farraday killed the episode, despite some good stuff with Hassan's bodyguard and the continued performances of Das Boat and David Anders. Renee stabbing Vlad and then Jack, followed by two Bauer kills was awesome. Annie Wersching continues to knock it out of the ballpark and her scene with Jack at the end was terrific.

Freddie Prinze Jr. looks like someone shoved a pole up his ass.

Indeed.

Annie is doing a good job. She's a good equal to Jack and I look forward to more with her. Her stuff since she was introduced this season has been consistantly great.

Freddie Prinze Jr. looks like someone shoved a pole up his ass.

Maybe someone has? ;)

I was waiting for Renee's contact to wake up in a resurrection truck nearby.

Renee's going to need to pay back Jack big time.

"I got electrocuted by Russian mobsters and all I got was this t-shirt"

I grade this episode Good.

Starbuck's subplot is again the weak point of the episode. Everything else was interesting.

hey at least he doesn't have to have sex with the russian mobster.

I think that might finally be approaching the line Jack Bauer will not cross... :p

Im in two minds about this season. On one hand, its not terribly bad, in fact im invested in several of the story lines and Im not too bothered by the Dana Walsh plot. But on the other, NOTHING has happened. No massive action sequence, no real suspense, nothing im rooting for. Its all pretty 'meh' right about now.

Im hoping the pace picks up soon.

This season hasn't been bad but, yeah, nothing has happened. I'm at a "meh" point too, but I don't see how the Starbuck plot wouldn't cause everyone to gnash their teeth.

The reviewer on Entertainment Weekly hates Renee for some reason and was hoping she would stab herself. But she found that the Dana storyline "got her pulse racing." Needless to say, virtually every one of the commenters disagreed with her.

What makes the current Hassan storyline work is you can see where the guy is coming from. His brother, the man who was also his most important aide, betrayed him and almost had him killed. That's a devastating betrayel. In his mind, how can he possibly trust anybody?
