Not a bad episode. Nowhere near as good as last week's episode. The President's stupidity is weighing things down but we got fine performances by Gregory Itzen and Bob Gunton. Like how Jack brought up the obvious elephant in the room in regard to how responsible Cole is for today's events.
Whatever.
If you ask me cutting off people's fingers one by one still gets better results. 
At this point, I hope this season ends with the entire US government being devastated by a virus so that Jack is the only one left who can become President.

I wonder if this thread is a indication of what the series has become because there are only 5 posts following the commentary, and not very much reaction. That, and it ended here almost an hour and a half ago, which would be almost 3 and a half hours ago back east/central.
I can't say I blame you for the lack of response. This episode sucked. What happened really? Jack is still on the Run, Taylor is still an asshole, and we get the cliche of Jack turning someone into an ally in Cole. I guess that final thing was important, but not really. I think the thing that really angered me the most is now everyone associated with Jack has either turned against him or is dead. I feel really bad for the guy to be honest. How many times has he saved the country and is still treated like shit? Do I really care about this whole peace process because so far I haven't seen anything to make me understand Taylor. Is the message this season about Government turning against it's own country in the name of peace? Gee, how many times has that been done before on 24.
Maybe it's good that 24 is going to end. This show is limping to the finish line when at this time in the "good" seasons (Season 1, 2, 5, and 7) it was full sprint. The last few weeks have been good, mainly because of Itzin (Who was great here and elevated this episode for being completely horrible), but let's go. 5 episodes left of the season, the series finale is in sight, pick up the pace.
Oh, and give Jack Bauer the fucking medal of Honor and the keys to America or something. At least give him a break for everything he's been through in the last 20 (24) years.

Agree with the above. Taylor is a worthless sack of shit at this point. I did like that Ethan brought up the same things I did from last weeks episode thread about the insanity of pushing the peace process at this point. He obviously reads my work. Why is he the only one left in government who isn't retarded?
As for Jack and the Scooby Gang, I attribute that to them being awe of Bauer. If I was tasked with taking him out, it would be with a howitzer, not the CTU redshirt crew.

You know, I was so angered by this episode I didn't even mention Chloe and I was actually going to when I made the point of anyone who is associated with Jack either turning against him or has died. Chloe is the LAST person I would expect turning against Jack, and she is Naive to think she can beat him. How many times has those two worked together in some form or another. How many times have they both served as each other's confidant or something to that effect. Now we have the stupid insane decision of making her head of CTU, and she has now turned against Jack. Does that make any sense? Does it add Shock Value in what we know from years and years of this series. Does it come across as a twist that should be interesting? No, No, No, and No. It's a stupid thing the writers have done, it makes absolutely zero sense, and in a series that's ending it's run (And I'm not looking forward to the movie), it's a terrible way to go out. I guess I would have to say there are some things in 24 that shouldn't be touched. I feel pitting Chloe against Jack is absolutely crossing the line.
