I've often been amazed at just how far the character of Bill Buchanan has come. Going from CTU replacement boss #54 in season 4 taking over for that crazy woman with the even crazier kid. I never would have forseen him being one of 24's biggest alumni stars.

Jack "We'll stand behind you."

SOmehow, I don't think Jack's reputation will be of much use to Tony

In 2017 we go back to using keys for opening our trunks.

Opening your trunk OF THE FUTURE!!!

Indeed, I really like Bill as a character and I think he's almost as needed now as Chloe or even Tony are.

An OK episode. Be interesting to see what happens in the batch of episodes after the strike.

I think next week's episode looks like it has excellent potential.

Indeed, and next week *should* be the last episode of the first batch filmed before the strike. So it'll be interesting to see how much things change between the next episode and the following one, not the least of which being in the apperance of the characters.

Do we know of any breaks in the "24" schedule, or is it a straight shot?

OKay, good. I figured as much with the new season not starting until January, but you can't ever tell with television networks these days.

It was a strong episode because of the early parts, but things quickly seemed to slow down FAST.

I'm guessing after next week's episode we should finally see Jon Voight's character show up again?

Two things:

1. I am not really feeling a whole lot of urgency here. At least before the CIP device was destroyed we knew that there was a threat. Now it's over except for Dubaku holding a hostage. He didn't have a backup plan? Usually '24' villains do.

2. Why do I keep getting the feeling that Tony is going to turn on them? I don't know why, I just feel like he might go back to being 'evil' again.

I've been wondering the same thing, having the same nagging feeling. However, that jsut seems to be adding more depth to "24" character, than I'm used to seeing on the show.

Jack is making Tony turn himself in? I wonder if Tony will end up escaping. That was my first thought.
Maybe they'll fake Tony's death, only to need his help a few years later.

This ep seemed more energetic than the last few, but I didn't even have to notice the writers to recognize the source of its dull technobabble about CIP devices and manual shut-down procedures plant managers don't know, but FBI computers do. ;)

As usual, whatever Jack and Tony are up to was way more interesting than the rest of the stories combined. The thin connection between the First Gentlemen's story (strongly reminding me of the endlessly dull Miliken story from season 3) and the main plot isn't making it any of the characters involved more interesting. This was also the 2nd week in a row where the patented 24 cliffhanger wasn't nearly as exciting as the countdown seemed to think. Dobaku talks to his girlfriend (supposed to be shocking?) then makes a boring phone call...BOOP, BEEP, BOOP, BEEP!

Oh well, it still holds my interest and I love Jack, Tony, Bill and Chloe. Feel free to cut everyone else out of the plot Trip-style, writers, so we can see more of the fun characters involved in interesting stories. :D

After last week's episode I expected something bigger but it didn't quite deliver. What we got was pretty good though and I've actually been liking this season. I've officially given up on Heroes and just focusing on 24.

Next weeks episode looks great. President Tyler and Jack finally meet. I wonder how that will go down. I have a feeling when all is said and done, Jack might finally be getting a pardon or something.
